Studying abroad in Viterbo, Italy provided me the opportunities that I couldn’t have expected. First, I was able to become more knowledgeable and connected with Italy, through the courses of; Italian Culture, Modern Italian History, Italian Renaissance, Intermediate Italian Conversation, and Italian Cuisine. Second, through personal-directed experience, I was fortunate enough to travel to beautiful locations across the province of Lazio, and greater Italy. More importantly, in this was the opportunities to meet, forge relationships and learn from some truly great people (Italian hospitality!) Finally, through USAC volunteering in a local high school (Santa Rosa), and working at a local language school, I was introduced to teaching English. This led to an avenue for my future post VCU.
