Our 4 days trip to Khao Kho was very pleasant and relaxing. Khao Kho is known to Thai people for scenic mountain views and sea clouds. Most Thai people do road trip to Khao Kho for camping or staying in resort on top hills to wake up in the morning to spot sea clouds that usually happens during the beginning of rain season, which is obviously the peak of Khao Kho tourism.

There are more to see and do than just spotting sea clouds. The most visitted places includes Wat Phrathat Pha Son Kaew Temple, Wind farm, Khao Kho National Park, Blue Sky Garden, Kanchanapisek Pagoda, Royal Residence, Khao Takhian Ngo Bureau of Monks, Phu Tubberk, Pick-Your-Own Strawberry Farm, etc.

We stayed in Blue Sky Resort, which is also one of the attractions of Khao Kho as well. We’ve spent most of the time in the resort because we feel that it was spacious, scenic and very relaxing. They have very beautiful landscape and accommodations that were deliberately created in European style. It’s also open for public access with entrance fees. They have all season gardens that are all very lovely and relaxing. There are plenty of seatings around the gardens. They’ve also made a little maze with two-storey-tower 360 degree view point between the garden and the coffee house.

They serve nice Thai food but, do not expect their Italian food to be brilliant in terms of tastes. I’d say the taste was bland. I’ve tried their green tea cake which I think it was bad. Their macarons were super hard, I wouldn’t recommend. The coffee house at the time did not serve coffee. Instead, they serve boba iced-tea which I think it wasn’t close to good.

However, we have a very good place to recommend you go to for authentic Thai food. At Rai Song Rao Restaurant, which located in Rai Song Rao Resort. We’ve had Tom Yum Giant Prawn which is one of Thailand’s famous dishes and the taste was fantastic. It came in a hot pot with charcoal under the pot which kept the soup super hot. You can request the level of spiciness with the waiter [May need translation or just basic English]. Another local famous dish is Crispy Fish in Tamarin Sauce. Khao Kho is famous for growing Tamarin. Do not miss it! Very strongly recommend.
