So, I had wine…no spills and will have to say it was quite the experience. It is PITCH black. The servers wear night time glasses and guide guests through the dark restaurant (linked like a macarena line, hands on the person’s shoulders in front of you) to your table. I will have to say, there’s a lot of uncertainty to if your going to bump into someones table. Those seated (having been through the process) tend to have a little fun by an occasional grab of your leg or sudden loud voice to startle for their own amusement. We quickly made friends with Victoria sitting next to our table as she was ordering wine every 10 minutes. It was fun to picture what people looked like based on only the voice you were hearing.

The food was excellent!! 7 courses were served and the waiter did an excellent job explaining each course and if a fork, spoon or your hands would be recommended for consuming each dish. I realized how much sight plays into weather or not we are going to like something. We completely had to rely only on taste, which was a little odd. We had great fun and I would certainly recommend a Blackout restaurant near you!

I was able to hike most of the way up the mountain 2. 5 weeks post surgery. I was cautious and hiked through a small avalanche area, but couldn’t quite make it up a steep icy hill and decided to hike down solo. All good and knowing my physical limitations was key.
