Day 1 of Italy’s nationwide quarantine, Kaia Shivers, an NYU professor teaching in Florence, opted to stay in the city after her university’s local campus shuttered. Two weeks later, the whole country was placed under Marshall Law with limited movement until April 3, 2020.
After receiving so many calls from family about the spread of the COVID-19, the strain of coronavirus increasing in the country, she decided to chronicle her experiences in Italy’s Red Zone.
