Hello Human,
have you heard of Costa Concordia? It was one of the biggest cruise ships by the Costa Cruises aka Costa Crociere.
It went on its maiden voyage on July 14, 2006.
Passenger capacity was 3780 while crew capacity was 1100. It had 13 public decks, each named after a European state. Deck 1 was the lowest.
You can consider this ship a 5-star hotel floating on water.
The name “Concordia” was intended to express the wish for “continuing harmony, unity, and peace between European nations.”
The ship was delivered to Costa on June 30, 2006. It cost 450 million euros. It was 290 meters long, had a beam of 35,50 meters and drew 8,20 meters of water.
The ship had 4 swimming pools, 2 with retractable roofs, 5 jacuzzis, 5 spas, and a poolside movie theater on the main pool deck.
There were 5 on-board restaurants, with Club – Concordia and Samsara taking reservations – only dining.
There were 13 bars, including a cigar and cognac bar and a coffee and chocolate bar. Entertainment options included a 3-level theater, casino, q futuristic disco, a children’s area equipped with video games and a basketball court.
Also, there were various shops on both sides of the ship selling products like clothes, souvenirs, perfumes, etc.
And if you felt extra lucky you could hit one of the slot machines and possibly win something.
Regarding my story, well…let’s just say, I was very young, naive and looked like 12 😂
Dear Concordia,
I will keep you in mind as this magnificent beauty that you were, a place where a lot of people found joy, like a city under evening lights. 🖤RIP
