This is one of the best Italian restaurants in the Yarra Valley!
@zoncello.official is a modern Italian restaurant located in Healesville. It’s the newest venue from the team behind @zonzoestate in Yarra Glen.
It’s a big, beautiful space with a few different areas! The main dining area, private dining room, outdoor terrace (no umbrellas – yet!), salumeria, bar and retail space.
The menu is led by Executive Chef @davidpetrilli (ex-Marameo), classic Italian flavours with just enough of a modern twist to keep it interesting. You can go a la carte or opt for the $65 sharing menu. The pizza is made with 48 hour fermented dough and the pasta is made fresh on site daily.

⭐️ Eggplant croquettes, charred leek salmoriglio, ricotta salata
⭐️ Charcoal grilled octopus, Italian style XO sauce – beautifully tender with a perfect char
⭐️ Mortadella grigliata – charred with a smoky flavour, paired with pear mostarda that’s sweet on its own but perfectly balanced together
⭐️ Gamberone pizza – fluffy, puffy dough with plenty of juicy prawns (tails on which adds flavour)
⭐️ Campanelle genovese – tender pulled meat with a hint of lemon that really lifts it, campanelle is such an underrated choice!
⭐️ Chicken cotoletta, Italian tartare, charred leek oil, anchovies – huge portion, crispy, juicy
⭐️ Fries, ricotta salata, wild oregano – a mountain! Crispy, well seasoned
✔️ Classic tiramisu – silky, slightly on the sweeter side with a subtle orange note
✔️ Ricotta bombolini, spiked caramel sauce – the Cointreau adds a nice orange flavour
Everything was innovative, portions are generous, food prices feel fair for the quality and the service was outstanding.
Makes it on my list of one of my favourite Italian restaurants in Victoria. I would say it’s even worth a trip exclusively, it’s around a 1 hour drive from Melbourne.
