Did you know that pizza actually started out as a “poor man’s food”? ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿคฏ

Back in the 18th century, the poorer folks in Italy used to throw together pizzas using just flatbread, tomatoes, and whatever leftover veggies they had laying around. The rich people absolutely hated it! ๐Ÿšซ

But fast forward to 1888, when the Queen of Italy, Margherita, was passing through town. She requested to try a pizza, so local bakers whipped up a special one just for her. ๐Ÿ‘‘

The second she tasted it, the Queen was absolutely obsessed! And whatever the Queen loves is bound to become a massive trend. Because of that, this humble food blew up and quickly became famous all over the entire world. ๐ŸŒโœจ

  1. The pizza they made for her was specifically designed to match the colors of the Italian flag! ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ•

Legend has it that the local chef used red tomatoes, white mozzarella cheese, and green basil to represent the newly unified Italy. That is why to this day, this classic recipe is officially known as the 'Margherita Pizza' in her honor! ๐Ÿ‘‘

    The Question:
If you could only eat one pizza topping for the rest of your life, what would it be? Let me know in the replies! ๐Ÿ‘‡
