We didn’t just visit Siena… we lived it.
In this episode of Graham & Jodie Travel, we take you inside one of Italy’s most historic and fiercely proud cities — and experience it in a way most visitors never will.
🏛️ We stayed in an incredible Airbnb with a twin Juliet balconies overlooking the iconic Piazza del Campo…
🍷 Drank Tuscan wine as church bells rang across the old town.
🍝 Ate fresh pasta and pizza in hidden trattorias.
🍷 Explored the Tuscan countryside on unforgettable wine tours.
🐶 Went truffle hunting with a local farmer and his incredible truffle-sniffing dog.
But what made Siena truly special wasn’t just the food or the views.
It was the people.
Siena is divided into historic neighbourhoods called Contrade — each with its own identity, rivalries and traditions that date back centuries. We met locals from several Contrade, were invited into one of their private clubhouses, and even sat down to play cards with the old men who’ve lived this culture their entire lives.
This is Siena beyond the postcard.
This is tradition. Pride. Community. Passion.
And honestly… it might be one of the most unique places we’ve ever experienced in Italy.
If you love authentic travel, cultural immersion, wine, food and once-in-a-lifetime traditions — this episode is for you.
