1. Make the Dough
In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5โ€“10 minutes until foamy.
Add flour, cornmeal, salt, olive oil, and butter.
Knead until smooth (8โ€“10 minutes).
Cover and let rise for 1โ€“2 hours until doubled.
2. Prepare the Filling
Cook ground beef in a pan until browned. Drain excess fat.
Add onion and garlic; sautรฉ until soft.
Season lightly with salt and pepper. Set aside.
3. Make the Sauce
Heat olive oil in a pan.
Add crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, chili flakes, salt, and pepper.
Simmer for 15โ€“20 minutes until thickened.
4. Assemble the Pizza
Preheat oven to 220ยฐC (430ยฐF).
Grease a deep round pan or cast iron skillet.
Roll out dough and press into the pan, covering bottom and sides.
Layer in this order (important!):
Mozzarella cheese (bottom layer)
Cooked meat mixture
Pepperoni slices
Pour sauce on top
Sprinkle parmesan cheese
5. Bake
Bake for 25โ€“35 minutes until crust is golden and filling is bubbling.
