This episode we go foraging for wild asparagus with our toddler on our property in Tuscany, Italy. With my husband, Guido, we make a simple lemon asparagus pasta for our family.

Every day I get so many emails and comments asking why you can’t locate the music I use or find it using Shazam. I purchase music licenses for almost all the music you hear in my videos. I buy them them from various royalty-free production music sites and most of the time they don’t list the performer because it’s music made only for film productions with an audio watermark throughout the entire track, unless you purchase the single-use license for $50-100 per track. I use a lot of opera so often I’ll reference the opera but I won’t be able to direct you to a recording of that specific performance that you could stream or buy on iTunes or Spotify. Hope that clears things up and thank you for appreciating quality music.

  1. My mother had 17 children and she always said "the more you have the easier it gets" I'm not sure my older siblings agreed 😂

  2. Hi Kylie, We have 3 children who are all delightful. However, we experienced the same sleep deprivation with our first two. I was also very much into exercise and maintaining my physique during my pregnancies. I met a new pediatrician shortly before the third birth and discussed my dreading the next year and a half of exhausting non-sleep due to my children’s difficulty with sleeping at night. She said she was quite familiar with this and had researched problem thoroughly as a mother herself and with her patients. She had discovered that women who basically received endorphin highs from quasi-addiction to exercise delivered children who were in fact ‘addicted’ to endorphins at birth and continued to receive more endorphins thru breast milk. They were thus unable to “settle” during the night. I know it was a salvation for us. I was still able to maintain a good body health during my pregnancy and was finally able to sleep with my sleeping baby! Thought this might help with yours and Guido’s thoughts concerning a possible third pregnancy. God Bless!

  3. Yay, welcome back to our little community, Guido. You two are such a beautiful couple.
My thoughts on more children are, of course very unimportant, but, if I may…
It's been tough watching the toll it took of you having two babies. The constant stress due to sleep deprivation, and depression associated with it. I would take a bit time between getting pregnant, again just to recover your mind and body. But, again, who am I to tell you what to do❤

  4. Fun video! After I ate al dente pasta the first time, it's now very hard for me to choke down soggy pasta. I usually cook my linguine with asparagus, wine, butter, shrimp, garlic and lemon ( not in that order). Yours looks really yummy.❤

  5. One of the things i love most about watching homesteading, homeschooling families . The numbers of children they have, their commitment to their families , cooking home meals, gardening, and bringing kids up in this environment!

  6. Great date night guys..was wondering when we were going to get one of these videos again! Nice team work…go the third child I say..the world needs more parents like you and Guido 🌠

  7. Think about eating in the past before we had so much choice in food markets, you would look so forward to seasonal food opportunities and those traditional recipes that arose from using what you could find.

  8. YUM! This made me hungry for a good pasta dish. I will have to make this. We don't have wild apparagas, but my neighbor grows it and shares some each spring!

  9. Oh, but there is pressure in the USA to not have children. You're told that children tie you down, and they're a bother. ( Their dogs tie them down more than kids would!) How tragic. Those women who choose to be stay at home moms can face criticism. My kids are 36, and I experienced degrading comments for our joint decision to stay home. We loved those fun years with little ones. Hard at times? Yes, but so worth it.

  10. Hello Kylie and Guido from Cali., U.S.A.
I am also married to an Italian. My name is Kathie and my husbands name is Vincent, named after his grandfather. We have Seven children, all grown and very close friends! This was not our plan when we were married but life sometimes takes a turn down another road,
    unplanned.
We couldn’t be happier with the life God gave us and the children we’ve been blessed with! We also had to think about the size of our family but after procedures that were performed to be able to have children we found it hard to make the decision to turn around the opposite way and not have any more.
We have four girls and three boys, born in that order and two that didn’t make it. We are so grateful that we have the children that we have and thank God every day for them!
We wish you the best in planning your family! Love and blessings to you and your little ones! Enjoy them, they are not little for long!!!

  11. Friday evening here in San Antonio, TX — nothing better than relaxing and enjoying your beautiful video.

I especially loved what you said about finding “someone compatible.” It’s so true… these days life feels like it all happens through a phone. It makes you wonder how people even get the chance to meet naturally anymore.

Your video brought back a really special memory for me. I spent a lot of my childhood with my grandparents on the Belgian coast. My grandmother was an incredible cook, and my grandfather would take me early in the morning to the docks to pick out the freshest fish straight from the boats for her to prepare.

They were always laughing, joking, kissing, and holding each other — just like you two. It reminded me of that kind of simple, genuine love.

Thank you for sharing this ❤️

    👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️

  12. Our daughter was born and I was breastfeeding her when I became pregnant with our TWIN sons born 15 months after our daughter! It was as much like triplets as anyone would want. Nobody was sleeping, nobody was talking, nobody was walking, everybody was pooping, everybody was crying! Three cribs, highchairs ,car seats, … And hiring childcare was not possible. I was an elementary teacher, and so I decided that taking care of my 3 children was a best use of my time than taking care of a whole classroom of somebody else's kids. Then, when the Twins were eight weeks old, I was able to let's start my own daycare with children the same age is mine. It was the most wonderful, rewarding, and blessed time of my life!

  13. I watched your video in parts, and I feel so delighted that you both took some time to enjoy each other. So happy for you Kylie, the Italian Guido, and the Australian Kylie ❤❤❤ promote that quality time with your Italian man, and we’ll see you smiling like heaven. 😊🌹

  14. With all the craziness and darkness around us at the moment, this video was a tonic for the soul. Thank you for reminding us that there is love and light in the world.

  15. Ah! I have asparagus envy! All of my neighbours here in the Mani know the good asparagus spots better than I do, so they always get them first. 😂 I was so happy to find one single asparagus on the path next to my house yesterday, but it was only the one so I ate it raw. Just send me over a plate of that pasta please!😉

  16. What a delightful escape into your world in Tuscany! Thank you. I have been consumed by global events and the war in Iran and the Gulf for the last 3 weeks. It’s good to know that peace and beauty exists outside this world of war, terrorism, and agression. It’s devastating and shocking. Praying for peace globally. 🕊️🙏

  17. OMGOSH my mouth is watering. Your boys have really grown up! I love the fact they understand two languages. Bravo! 🙋🏽‍♀️🇨🇦🥰

  18. I loved the First Lady singer & seeing Guido & little man Gianfranco. I have 3, now adults, we had an SUV. They fit everyone fine on back bench seat. Toyota SUV,s have an extra bench seat. I’m not sure if sold in Italy. Oh my gosh I just made Rummo, only found at Home Goods/ TJ Max, it’s made in Italy & delicious.

  19. Hi Kylie. In Georgia 🇬🇪 we also have this tree in the mountains- the Judas tree. My grandpa told me once that it is called so because as the legend goes when Judas betrayed Jesus he was so ashamed after so he hang himself from this tree. So when the tree is in pink bloom in the spring it looks like it blushes because of what Judas did.

  20. Very Fun video Kylie❤Thank you Guido-for sharing your language, knowledge & Ideas- . Love to hear all of you speak any language with your beautiful accents. Dove L'aria c'e -wonderful! Thank you lovely people!

  21. My Mom was the last of 13. The Dad died when she was 5 months old. She used to tell us how blessed they were with love but not monetarily. I had four when it was popular to have 2. God will bless you as he sees fit. Acceptance is key. Guido needs a lil girl to cuddle 🥰
