In my mot recent tasting I really enjoyed a single-vineyard Cabernet Franc from Bolgheri, Tenuta Argentiera’s Ventaglio 2020, the wine is actually labelled as an IGT Toscana. The wine is intended to be the epitome of Bolgheri Cabernet Franc and shows a fine structure, beautiful perfumes and lively red fruit flavors. While the wine was beautiful, In cannot help thinking that Cabernet Franc is more suited works better as a blending element along with Cabernet Sauvignon and/or Merlot, than to macking varietal wines..
