    Love you Rita!!! I learned by watching My Grandmother and Great Grandmother cook in the kitchen with their housecoats/dusters on…escarole and beans is one of my favorite dishes.

    I was just saying this today , we learned by watching, tasting, aroma and of course eating. We can tell when the food is at its peak we don't need a dang meat thermometer or a timer ..lol am I right or am I right

    Yea. Everything was taught in their, our kitchens. It just natural for us. Adding I'm in restaurant/ catering 40 years. Licensed mixologist. My daughter by way of this is a chef/ cook. However, she has a medical assistants degree plus. I have and education in business skills, all levels to include accounting that which applys to said business. We've made a wonderful living from it. It brings us joy to give to others. Blessings.

    So, my family is Portuguese and personally, my younger sister and I are 50% Portuguese as far as blood/genetics go.

    I’m well aware that they are two different cultures, but this video and many others that involve your cooking and stories/memories remind me so much of my own experiences with my family.

    I lost my maternal grandmother 10+ years ago and your videos take me right back to being a little kid, like barely old enough to be in elementary school, and either watching my grandmother cook/bake or times when she and I actually did the cooking together once I was a little older.

    I hope you aren’t weirded out or anything when I say this, but you and your content/videos have been a great comfort to me for quite some time, especially lately. You see, I turn 35 in 13 days and I’m “forced” to celebrate/acknowledge this life milestone without the woman who was my very first best friend in my life.

    All that just to say thank you so much and please keep up the great work.
