  1. 🫒 What olive oil are you actually buying and has it ever listed a harvest date 👇
⚠ Follow for clear, uncomfortable supermarket breakdowns.

  2. Any extra virgin olive oil sold in a plastic bottle is an insult . Italian mass sold olive oil brands is not Italian as the country consumes more than its own production , it’s all blended Tunisian and any other countries with a cheaper bulk produce ( and not the premium oils ) bought in bulk and bottled in Italy . Any decent Italian oil will be bought in boutique shops and small production.

  3. And now for your score. You get a 10 out of 10 for this video. Now I have an idea of what I'm buying. Thank you!👍

  4. Call me a philistine, but I don’t actually care for the taste of “high quality” EVOO. This reminds me of wine snobbery, where you have to be trained to know what’s good.

  5. Glad the algorithm showed me this. I assumed the glamorous Italian bottle meant trustworthy. I didn't know about harvest date. I'll defo shop for the better brand. I've tasted olives, quite bitter tasting, the oil is never like that.

  6. Berio is one of the best. In Italy is about 8-12 Euros per litre. Add export duties and you’ll see that in the UK it’s not that expensive.

  7. The olive oils that cost 2-4 times what the others cost are better – wow informative video. Jesus 🙄

  8. The one that was shown in the Tesco clip, the puglian single origin from Lidl, is Fabulous olive oil and im surprised it doesn't get an HM as an affordable but tasty alternative.

  9. We live in Florence, Tuscany🇮🇹, where you can even drive to the producers themselves. However, we use my father-in-law's olive oil from his smallholding in Puglia. 🌳🫒

  10. I buy 3L of olive oil when I go to Greece every year, wouldn't touch stuff in the supermarket over here, It lasts me until I go back!

  11. The first olive oil producer in the world it’s Spain, produce more than the rest of the world together, why it’s that relevant? Because not all olives are the same, they need to have certain acidity and sweetness…so, when you got the huge amount of olive oil disponible in Spain, there are more chances than you’ll get more good olive oil than when you get a minimum production, do you get it? They are treating olive oil like facial cream for ladies…as far away are sourced the ingredients or “niche” the better it should be…olive oil it’s the jug of the olive extracte by mechanical ways, that’s it…sorry if I did offended the poets reading me…😂

  12. Great video im going to try the Finca del torre just seen it on Amazon for 32 GBP was using fellipo berio lol

  13. I'd like to know why you showed the Tesco one next to the Puglian one? There must be a point but it was not made.

  14. My favourite atm is Kew Gardens Limited Edition cold pressed Greek olive oil in a can. £17 to £25 for 500ml depending where you get it. Nice peppery bite at the back of the throat, always a good sign. Guaranteed to be above the 250mg per kg level. Not as high as some of your top 5 though so I will definitely be trying them.

  15. I have my own olive trees which we harvest by hand. The olives are pressed at the local co-operative in small batches and the oil is presented back to you in 5L containers. The difference between my cold-pressed, unfiltered extra virgin and shop bought stuff is absolutely stunning. Multiple layers of flavour which develop on your tongue. Tasting typical supermarket stuff after that, is frankly like drinking engine oil.

  16. I've just tried to buy the Waitrose Valley Trapanni and it's not available. There's something similar but only £24 a litre. Not sure where this information is coming from.

  17. I buy Lidl Deluxe Puglian Extra Virgin Olive Oil. It has a lovely full bodied, peppery taste. Also it states on the bottle the bottle number and harvest year. It’s about £7 per 500ml. Not the stupid prices quoted on this vid. Also Aldi Extra Virgin Olive oil comes highly recommended.

  18. I find the fetish use of olive oil by tv chefs to be disgusting. The only use for olive oil is to lubricate heating axle bearings on steam locos.
