Abandoned Italy (Season 4, Episode 01) Cittadella dei Condannati

In the heart of an ancient Italian city, we ventured inside a massive abandoned prison complex. What first looked like a maze of silent corridors quickly turned into a mosaic of personal stories once we stepped inside the cells. Almost every room held traces of the people who had once been confined there. Deep inside the complex, we also discovered something we didn’t expect: a second prison – hidden, much older, and long forgotten. Join us in the first episode of our new Abandoned Italy season as we explore what was left behind! #urbex #abandonedplaces #bwturbex

  1. Abandoned Italy is finally back! 🇮🇹 What kind of places would you like to see as part of this season? Industry, villas, theaters, ghost ships, churches… or something else? Tell us in the comments! 👇
Also, if you'd like to support our videos, it helps a lot to like and share our content. Thanks for watching!

  2. 7:31 yeah, but it's not like they were anything important back then either. Most of them (unless very specific and very upfront an item) were actually interior architectural elements and/or parts of things like Samovars or teapots. Sometimes we buy old trophies because specific parts from them are what we seek to recreate to repair old chandeliers or other light fixtures (not to worry, we just use the dimensions – it's kinda like catch and release).

  3. Incredible guys. I love every video you put out. Glad you got to see it before it gets changed again. Can't wait for the next one.

  4. Hello from Canada. I think this is one of the best YouTube channels out there. I just love love everything about you guys. Thank you so much. Be well.

  5. Absolutely no one can tell a story like BWT! I know that the prison is cold and meant to be uncomfortable, but the architecture is so beautiful with the arches and the ivy crawling everywhere. It hurts my heart a little to see all the toys for the children and how they lived out their lives with their mothers. Another wonderful job, I look forward to your next one.

  6. 13:00 It says the hat could only be a beany for winter no summer cap or anything like that only for the cold that only covers the scalp for winter…

The jumper is only for winter, the jacket can only be not thick and also specifies that it has to be of modest appearence…

The belt has to be very basic and thin…

The blanket has to be simple and thickend (without the "stuffing" for winter)

  7. 13:49 it's not clear but seems to say this person has been taking 10 drops of Valium to sleep… Than says "help" or the name of the person…?

  8. 22:41 It reminds the inmates to always have their "medicare booklet" (it used to be a like a small booklet as an health care card, but now days all of Europe or EU country have same health care card)… Otherwise the inmates will be charged for their medical service…

  9. 25:18 That book says "basic modeling for clothing" (rough translation) so this room was dedicated to modeling or making clothes…

  10. Hmm the kid toys and parafernalia could be because of pregnant inmates …. whether they were already pregnant when they were convicted, or fell pregnant during their sentence, my guess is that they gave birth there and were allowed to raise the kids into toddlerhood (1-2 years old) and then made to give them to their family or foster care afterwards.

    🎵🎶

    Say, say, oh playmate,
Come out and play with me,
    And bring your dollies three,
    Climb up my apple tree.
    Slide down my rain barrel,
    Into my cellar door,
    And we'll be jolly friends,
    Forever more, more, more.
    🎶🎵

    Great video, thanks!

  16. What you do is not just urbexing. What you do is art. You show films that could easily be shown in cinemas. You didn’t just introduce me to this hobby, you also embody the values that every urbexer should have: document, don’t change or take anything, leave only footprints at most. I am infinitely grateful for these amazing videos and have been following since the very beginning! Can´t wait for the next one!
