When you prepare a cake for someone you love, your gift is not only a homemade dessert, tasty and with selected ingredients, your gift is your time and the love you put into preparing it too.

Ingredients:

Custard:
2 eggs (red yolk if available)
500 g whole milk
40 g cake flour (of which about 1/4 corn starch, if available)
150 g sugar
lemon zest (or vanilla berry, if you prefer)
2-3 tbs of hazelnut cream (made of 100% hazelnut)

Sponge Cake:
5-6 eggs (red yolk if available)
sugar: 2/3 of eggs weight
cake flour: 2/3 of eggs weight (of which nearly 1/3 of potato flour, if available)
lemon zest (or vanilla berry, if you prefer)

whipped cream: about 400 ml is enough for Chantilly cream & final decoration

hazelnut and dark chocolate for final decoration (or whatever your creativity pushes)

note: if you have only cake flour, don’t worry! your cake will be however very good!
