  1. Oh, about the Medieval fasting days surviving until today
    … Ember Days are still observed by some, like myself, quarterly on the liturgical calendar.
    They are Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday … three days of quarterly fasting.
    I observe those days exactly like I observe a Friday during lent.
    Ember Days are still marked on some church calendars, and they are surprisingly listed in "The Old Farmers Almanac."
