Three Blind Wines Episode 14
In this episode of Three Blind Wines, we visited Dear Emilia in Denver. The wines were chosen by Scott Thomas, an Italian Wine Expert and Educator who is also the wine director for Dear Emilia and Restaurant Olivia.
Sam Maher (co-owner, Somebody People) and Justin Freeman (Executive Chef, Somebody People) will separately blind taste each of the wines and guess the varietal and vintage. Because all of the wines at Dear Emilia are Italian, instead of guessing the country the wine is from, Sam and Justin will have to guess which region of Italy the wine is from.
Scoring for each wine:
Varietal: 2 points
Vintage: 2 points
Region of Italy: 2 points
The wines were then paired with a dish of gemelli pasta, tomato paste, lions mane mushrooms, a pinto bean miso, and fresh oregano.
