Once you realize how simple homemade arrabbiata is – you’ll never reach for a jar again. This simple sauce doesn’t take long to throw together, which makes it perfect for a weeknight meal. Add as many red pepper flakes as you can handle! I especially like the Calabrese flakes from for an extra layer of flavor & spice.

🌶️ 🍝 Recipe :
– 6-8 cloves of garlic, minced
– olive oil
– red pepper flakes (as much as you can take!!)
– 28 oz of whole or crushed tomatoes (I prefer the baby Roma tomatoes)
– 1 lb penne pasta, prepared
– salt & pepper to taste
– parsley & Parmesan to garnish
**remember to reserve some pasta water

In a sauce pan, add olive oil, garlic, chili flakes, a pinch of salt & pepper and sauté until fragrant – about a minute (making sure not to burn). Add tomatoes, salt, and pepper (if using whole make sure to smash with the back of your spoon as you stir.) and allow to simmer for 10-20 min. Before adding pasta, add a little of your pasta water into the sauce (a scant 1/4 cup or so) and stir in. Add al dente pasta and allow to simmer as you stir.

Taste for seasoning, garnish with parsley & Parmesan & enjoy! #pasta #easyrecipe #italianfood #italian #dinner
