In this video I decant a bottle of 2023 Sassicaia from Tenuta San Guido in preparation for my tasting. This is a pre-release sample from the producer, the wine will not be physically released onto the market until June, although some merchants are offering it on a pre-arrival basis. The wine received some very favourable reactions when it was shown to the press in early February, including a 100-point score from Robertparker.com’s Monika Larner – making this just the second vintage of Sassicaia to receive this accolade.
