What is Cannonau? Cannonau di Sardegna is a red wine from the Italian island of Sardinia. It is made from Cannonau, the local name for their Grenache – one of Sardinia’s most successful grapes grown from that region. My point is, if you can’t pronounce it, buy it immediately! 🍷

I love how the acidity whips around on my tongue. Exciting and enticingly delicious. Tart Cherry, that deepens into a more morello like the next day of opening, delivering an undercurrent of red berries. Fragrant from the get go. Whispers of violets and wild herbs. This although being light in colour (almost rose like) and in mouthfeel versus some other Grenache styles, it demands your attention with its own uniqueness. This is a producer that I want to explore.. with their many alternate varieties, they are definitely on my list and should be on yours too!
Today I’m obsessing over my wine n wax pairing. From the sultry and alluring, almost ethereal like, down-tempo American group – Cigarettes After Sex with their track of one of my personal favourites for so many reasons… Nothing’s Gonna Hurt You Baby.
