She appeared to have twisted her body midair and crashed intentionally after realizing she wouldn’t be capable of negotiating the next turn.

From different angles they showed after the mishap, it looked to me like her right hand and arm went through the gate. My opinion. Very unfortunate. Wish her all the best for fast recovery.

My heart goes out to Lindsey but this reporter doing the narrative has an annoying vocal fry I can barely handle – keep it old skool – the reporters of the 80's and 90's had a much better sound to their voices before uptalk and vocal fry became "cool." We love you Lindsey!!!!!

At 40 she needs to move on. I'm a s*it for saying that but come on Lindsey what are you doing? You're an old woman compared to these kids. Go be a commentator or an instructor move onward and upward.
Hitting a gate at the speed she was going was horrendous. I thought that these types of gates should release but this seemed to trap her arm long enough to pull her off course. I realize she was cutting it close to the gate, but any downhill racer would have been twisted off course, making recovery difficult. The photo was amazing.

How irresponsible are the doctors for letting her ski while injured just because she wants to compete? Now, it will take longer to heal, and she’ll never go to the Olympics again. It’s not all on the doctors, but Vonn as well.
She will do anything for attention. At least this will finally be her last Olympics.
