  1. I make a very similar broccoli pasta but with butter and uncured honey maple ham as well as lemon 🍋 juice and parm. I should make it 😊

  2. I guess do what ever works for u that is if it actually is working im Italian and since steering clear of pastas and bread iv maintained my weight for years you would benefit if you ate mainly fish meats salads and low g.i fruits with a small palm portion or high fiber grain and your visceral fat would be lowered in your belly heaps … all the best on your journey

  3. Being on a weight loss journey myself, I've noticed a few things in your eating habits. It's not criticism, just what I learned from my dietician. You eat too little protein. The secret to weight loss is not to eat like a certain kind of country. It is to eat the right things in order to make you feel full and give your body the right amount of nutricion. There is also not a lot of fiber in your food.
Whole milk, chicken skin and pasta isn't the best choice. Low fat milk, chicken breast without skin and for example sweet potatos or nomal potatos would be much better for you. Add salad, oven baked veggies, lean meat or fish in at least two meals. Use cottage cheese, low or non fat greek yoghurt for salad dressings or to make veggie casseroles. And also.. just eat 3 meals a day. No snacking in between. It's hard but it is the only way to give your body time to deal with the blood sugar.

  4. Hello Sophie, I’m an Italian living in Switzerland… and a foodie. I think your dishes are amazing and very varied. Love your channel and content by which I get inspired. Thanks. 👍👍😊 PS: those spaghetti are superb! Edit to add: if you like peperoncini, try some Monini peperoncini olive oil. It is incredible good.

  5. hey sophie i've been trying to lose weight too and just discovered your channel recently. its truly very inspiring i love everything bout your videos they make me feel less overwhelmed about things like calorie counting and portion control that i struggle with. you prolly already know this but you're doing GREAT i wish you all the best!!

  6. Hi Sophie I wanted to remind you after reading some comments that you're doing well, eating well. It's ok if you want to eat a bit of chocolate or cheese or whatever. You diet looks great and you're doing ok in calories and healthy food. You're already consulting with doctors and that's all the opinions you need. Obviously there is always room for improving but that can be said about everything and everyone. I think if you tried to restrict yourself too much it'll be negative for you and fire back. You're already improving at your own pace and in a healthy way, keep it up. Kisses.

  7. 😂 here comes all the unsolicited advice from the YouTube dieticians in the comments.

  8. Sophie — you are doing great! Your dishes are beautiful, and I love the meditative vibe of videos. Please keep making them, and be kind to yourself and your hubby :). You inspire me!

  9. Hey Sophie, you’re already doing really great! Just wondering if a nutritionist/dietician is the one who put you on a 1,300 calories diet? Because I started at around 210 lbs and I’m now eating on the range of 1700-1800 kcals. I hit my protein goals, get enough fiber, still snack and doesn’t feel like “dieting” at all. I’ve lost around 19 pounds so far and I know what works for me doesn’t guarantee to work on you as well but if you ever feel hungry/not satisfied/constantly thinking about food, I suggest you to reasses your calories intake and find out your BMR (eating way lower than your BMR for a long period would stress out your organs). 1300 kcals is pretty low especially if you have a high BMI like myself, I’m just afraid a too-low calories diet won’t be sustainable and will make you lose muscles instead of actual fat.

  10. People are so weird about food and dieting…I'm happy with my size, I'm not dieting, I'm a pescatarian..we don't even have much in common and yet I watch your videos because I like your cooking and vibe. I'd never dream of giving you advice, and why should I? You never asked for it and every body is different. Hope you're not too triggered by the weird comments you get sometimes.

  11. The pasta looks so good! I’ve tried different pasta recipes that include broccoli and my current favorite is adding steamed broccoli florets at the very end ( so they keep their crunch) and giving it a good stir so they get a good brushing of the sauce with olive oil/garlic/ parmesan/ whatever. I also love the addition of ham or bacon or hot Italian sausage- just a few slices as everything else carries so much flavour 😊

You’re eating such a broad range of whole foods, beautifully prepared and presented, and must be getting lots of nutrients while also enjoying your food. Sounds like a big win to me!

  12. The dishes looked delicious. I am trying omad at the moment. Can not recommend it enough. You simply eat all this food in an hour or two hour window. It made me stop thinking about food all day and simply cured cravings.

  13. Echoing some comments in saying that I think you're doing amazing, Sophie! I'm 5ft and have been on a calorie deficit diet for a few months (am just eating maintenance now) and I just want to say that you're doing absolutely just fine! A diet is whatever works for you and if you can stick to this diet and be happy with it, then it's the best diet for you!

I eat instant noodles, chocolates, peanut butter and eat plenty of bread. I don't think you need to restrict yourself to the point of being unhappy. It's all about portioning. I literally had sourdough with pistachio spread this morning and it was delicious and worth every single calorie. You do you, girl! And you're doing a great job 🙂

  14. lol…people need to stop pussy footing around and calling it a "journey" and start getting real. That's part of your problem…you will be journey forever that way and making no solid progress

  15. Thank you for sharing your journey, your cooking, your lovely energy ❤ Each vlog is such a soothing moment! ( Don't hesitate to let the scenes a lil longer when you edit them *if you hesitate😅❤)

  16. Love your recipes…can't wait for an update on how you're feeling physically since you started counting calories? Keep up the good work❤❤

  17. I found that inspirational. I’ve put on weight after dropping loads having been severely ill. I need to drop a couple of stones about 26lbs and it feels daunting. Don’t know why I was once 22 stone and now I’m 14 so I know I can do it. I just need inspiration and you’ve given it to me. Thanks. Food looked good 😊.

  18. You might enjoy my favorite nutrient dense breakfast which is berries with cottage cheese and a couple tablespoons of crushed pecans. Blueberries are especially nice. I add a crack of black pepper and a good amount of cinnamon, sometimes a dash of stevia if I have it. I enjoy it with my morning coffee and because there's a good amount of protein and healthy fats (plus antioxidants) it fills me up for quite awhile. You are doing great and I love to watch you cook!

  19. Weighing things changed everything for me. Even things like bread. For instance it will say 2 slices of the bread I like is 220 calories -based on 60 gram serving. But weighing those slices they are usually 75-90 grams for them, which adds up calorie wise. Weighing is so much more accurate. I weigh all my baking as well and have much more success
