Beneath our house in Italy, there are original cantina rooms once used for winemaking.
The stairs are tucked away in the courtyard, leading down to massive vaulted brick ceilings, an original grape tank that can’t be moved, and shelves still lined with dusty wine bottles from decades ago.
Trucks used to back into the courtyard and dump grapes through a ground-level window straight into the tank inside.
Now we’re left with one big question:
What should this space become?
Part of our ongoing Italy home renovation journey of uncovering the history and deciding what stays, what changes, and what gets a whole new vision.
Let us know what you’d turn this cantina into.
