Florence is stunning—but it’s also the easiest place to accidentally exhaust yourself if you try to do it like a “checklist city.” In this video, I’m sharing exactly how we toured Florence in 4 days as part of our 21-day Italy itinerary—using a simple 3-zone walking plan, advance tickets, and dinner reservations so we could enjoy the city instead of backtracking all day.

We traveled as two couples (40s + 50s), and I planned this entire trip over 12+ months with no travel agent. You’ll see what was worth it, what we skipped on purpose, and the small logistics that made Florence feel calm and doable.

  1. If you’re planning Florence: use the 3-zone idea from this video so you don’t backtrack (Duomo → Uffizi/River → Across the Arno). It’s the #1 thing that kept this trip low-stress for us.
