This is day 1 of the hardest challenge I’ve ever – hitchhiking over 50 miles across Tuscany, Italy, in just 5 days.
To get started on time, we had to wake super early to be on the road at 9 AM, because for this first day we had a hike of 15 miles, over a half marathon, from San Miniato to Gambassi Terme.
We couldn’t go anywhere for lunch because there was absolutely no civilization on this stretch so we quickly stopped to eat some cold cut meats and after that were absolutely awestruck by the views of the second half.
By that time it was around 4 PM and we were really starting to feel gassed, but what was still ahead of us was a 750 ft climb in the last stretch of 4 miles up to Gambassi Terme. Those last two miles I was so tired I actually felt like I was about to drop on the ground but thankfully we made it to the town in one piece.
Even from the city we still had another mile and a half long hike to the hotel that we were staying at, so as soon as we got there I had a second dinner and crashed early to recover for the next day.

The content is top notch I learned a lot from it.
Did you say “hitchhiking”?
Because I don’t think that means what you think that means.
I thought "sh*t, it took the man 5 days to hitchhike 50 miles…" 😂
But then I realised you meant hike and not thumb for rides ha
✌️👊🥾
