Though Ramsay is initially pleased to see that the restaurant still has good visitor numbers, and that former grill chef Norm is no longer working there, Ramsay soon becomes concerned when he finds that the menu has expanded again, now including various overcooked and tasteless pasta dishes. In an attempt to persuade Laurence to revert to solely using local produce, Ramsay sets up a cook-off on the beach between his seafood paella and Laurence’s pasta, with the paella easily winning among the beach-goers. While Laurence eventually agrees to remove the pasta dishes from his menu, Ramsay is no longer as optimistic about the restaurant’s future as he was during his initial revisit, and is worried that Laurence will soon lose focus again.

    Not sure if you can tell but Lawrence is gay. He is openly gay now and he was dating Alex the manager at this time. I actually would’ve never guessed he was gay until I googled some information about him.

    UPDATE: Lawrence has actually been fairly successful… After winning awards for “best pub” he has now opened two new spots one called “THE ROCK INN” in Chiddingstone and another pub called “THE SPOTTED DOG” in Penshurst. (2026)

    43:00 I could just never imagine how a human could have the Gordon Ramsay ask them to meet them at nine in the morning, while trying to help your restaurant succeed, and you show up an hour late and just laugh about it… Just un fucking real

    I actually met Gordon Ramsay once. It was in a queue to pay for petrol at a BP station in south London of all places. He was talking to someone in front of him when I heard that unmistakeable voice and realised who it was. Being a huge fan I could not believe my luck. I reached up and tapped him gently on his shoulder and asked him very politely if he would do a selfie with me. He turned and glared at me for a few seconds then leaned into me and hissed 'fuck off you stupid little man'
    It was a very special moment that I will always treasure.

    What Gordon doesn't relies is that there is certain comfort food that the locals will always prefer and love.
