My father looked at the man I had loved for five years and slid a check across the mahogany desk. Fifty thousand dollars. That was the price tag on my heart. He said, Take this money, leave Gabrielle, and marry her cousin Chloe instead. Chloe knows how to be a wife. Gabrielle is too difficult, she is too ambitious, she will never make you a man. I stood outside that heavy oak door, holding the engagement dinner invitation I had just printed, and felt my world turn to ash. I did not scream. I did not storm in. I simply walked away and disappeared for six years. Now, I am back for my brother is wedding at the most exclusive resort on the coast. My family thinks I am a failure who crawled back for a free meal. My ex fiancé looks at me with pity. My father treats me like the help. But there is one thing they do not know. They are not just guests at the Azure Coast Resort. They are standing in my lobby. I bought this entire property two weeks ago through a shell company, and I am about to foreclose on their entire existence. Before I unleash the storm, let me know where you are watching from in the comments. 1. Wow!! What is wrong with parents in this story, confused but very interested, listening from Pennsylvania keep these great stories coming

  2. Chloe is cousin, Julien should be her uncle . Trey , Chloe's husband. Gabrielle former ex- fiance'…!!! Dysfunctional blood – ties !!! SMH 😅

  3. Why do you continue to refer to Trey as the groom when it was her brother who got married. Im very confuse but entertained. Listening from Barbados West Indies.

  4. This was a good story, but there are inconsistencies that took away from the story. Why is Chloe calling Julian "dad"? Whose wedding was it: Jordan/Harper or Trey/Chloe? Was Arthur Sterling Gabby's employee or contemporary? Please fix inconsistencies.

  5. Listening from Dallas-Ft Worth, Texas. Terrific Story! Let's all make an attempt to remember that we should "Never Regret a day in our Life… Good days give us Happiness, Bad Day's give us Experienc, Worst Days give us Lesson, and Best Days give us Memories. Enough Said, and the laws of Cause and Effect, never waivers, it is Exact ‼️🥰💯❤🖤🙏

  6. This was one of the best stories, I have heard, the way you dismantle that miserable excuse of a father of yours, was ingenious, and pay back for Trey and Chloe was pure karma. I’m so glad for once you had true family in your brother and sister in law. Good for you, for taking down your father, Chloe and Trey.

  7. Listening from Detroit Mi. The nerve of your father expecting you to pay his bill after the way he treated you, and thank god your brother stood up and stop him from hitting you.

  8. These stories have/has a Bunch of Lunatic, dysfunctional, and stupid crazy parents/kinfolks. No one ever put the in their place. Funny. Enjoyable. Thank you fom ❤Nashville, TN.
