@mondogelato is a new Italian gelato and coffee bar on Elizabeth Street, Melbourne CBD. 🍦

“Mondo” means world, and the flavours pull inspiration globally from Italy to Japan, with 28 on rotation at all times. 🌍

It is housed inside a beautiful 150 year old heritage building, the space is absolutely stunning – warm orange tones, sculptural details and plenty of seating.

Owner Rio Olivetti is from northern Italy, he was trained in Bologna by the Head of Carpigiani Gelato University! Every recipe here is his own, with a focus on premium ingredients and traditional technique. 🇮🇹

You’ll be hard pressed to find a better sorbet, they are made with pure fruit so they’re full of flavour and not icy at all! You can also get a gelato flight to share 3 flavours.

Feel free to try as many as you like – we sure did. Our top picks were:
⭐️ Pistachio Crunch – hands down the best pistachio gelato I’ve ever had⭐️ Mango – just like taking a bite out of the fruit!⭐️ Salted Caramel, Rasberry⭐️ Thai Milk Tea
⭐️ Peach Oolong

Don’t skip the iced drinks either!
⭐️ Mondo No.1 Silk Road – espresso, pistachio milk, chocolate cream and pink salt⭐️ Mondo No.4 Terra – oat, chai cream and cacao nibs

Even though it’s only been open a couple of weeks it’s already gone viral – the place is packed at all hours! They’re open from 7.30am right through to 11.30pm.

This spot is definitely worth the hype. 💯

  1. Sorry, I'm from the United states, what does CBD mean where you're from? (Here in the US it means cannabidol!)
