Germany is often seen as one country with one personality — but after watching this breakdown of all 16 German states stereotypes, that idea completely changes. From Bavaria to Berlin, from Saxony to North Rhine-Westphalia, every region seems to have its own culture, attitude, humor, and identity.
In this reaction video, an American reacts to “All 16 German States Stereotypes Explained” and tries to understand what makes each Bundesland so different. Are Bavarians really that traditional? Is Berlin truly chaotic and creative? Are Swabians actually obsessed with saving money? And what about people from Hamburg, Hesse, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland, Thuringia, Saxony-Anhalt, Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein, and Bremen?
Germany has a deep regional history shaped by kingdoms, dialects, traditions, football rivalries, food culture, and strong local pride. This reaction explores whether these portrayals are exaggerated jokes or if there’s some truth behind them.
For anyone interested in German culture, German states differences, Bundesländer stereotypes, or how Americans view Germany, this video is for you. The goal isn’t to offend — it’s to learn, laugh, and understand the diversity within Germany.
Germans — how accurate are these stereotypes? Which ones are completely wrong? And which ones are painfully true?

This video was hilarious 😂
You should visit Munich and Alpine Bavaria, there is a direct train from Ljubljana, takes around 4 hours only.
Haha a lot of these stereotypes are true, espically this about Berlin, everybody who is not a hippie calls it Germanys sh*thole.
And the videos of Kurz Caz and dutch travel maniac about Germany are 100% true.
recommendation channel Jules for example (video title) "Ein Video über Deutschland" or channel Jules der II. "Deutsche Bundesländer in einer Nussschale" (video title) full of Jokes and sarcasm
Jo Deutsche Kartoffel hier , Kehrwoche is wichtig , stimmt 😂
The incest stereotype Saarland has is such a weird thing – it just emerged out of nothing on the internet some 10-15 years ago, and fully replaced the "they're basically French" one that they had since…probably post-WW1.
I am from Dresden and you need to come here – you love it here 😁
Im from Baden Württemberg and Everything he said is true. Especially the part where all of us just say we live near stuttgart lol. And yeah there are a lot of people like this, the rest are alcoholics like me lol
The best part about Berlin is that’s it’s the only capital in Europe that straight up cost the nation money. While all other capitals are financial hotspots, Berlin is just a money hole. The rest of Germany would be 0,2% richer if it wasn’t for our capital lol. That being said, the saying „eine Reise nach Berlin ist es immer wert“ (a visit to Berlin is always worth a trip) is absolutely true. Fun city
