I did not expect to see Cacio e Pepe at 7-Eleven Japan.
As a chef, I had to look at this properly. Is this actually close to the traditional Roman pasta… or is this an Italian food crime?
Would you try it?

That’s not authentic Cacio De Pepe
I’ve seen videos of how amazing 7-11’s are in Japan 🎉🎉
Kowhiciwa 😁 🇯🇵
YAAAAAAAY! I’m so excited about this! 😀
GREAT WORK AS ALWAYS ❤❤❤
Japanese 7-11s or other konbini are just great – the quality is really good for a convenience store. Sure, it might not be restaurant quality but really amazing for what it is.
Well we finally have our wish🎉🎉🎉 and the cherry on top is I'm the 100th like… Now we're going in the right direction…
@Japaneat videos are very good. His dry humor with the exploration of different Japanese dishes is very amazing. Check his shorts out
Vincenzo! You’re up next!!! 😀
Cacio e pepe❌️
Casio e pipi✅️😂
Why are the portions so small? That isn't even a breakfast.
Is it wrong that I don’t mind a split sauce? Some cuisines and recipes actually intentionally prefer it split. 🙂
Chef J you watch this guy too? 😂
Casio e pipi 😂
Often I make something like that at 0500 for breakfast. Left over pasta, butter, garlic, pepper in the nuker for 1 minute, top with cheese. Not fancy or Italian, but great for a quick breakfast.
According to youtube videos I've seen, Japan has some CRAZY stuff in 7-11.
Full on ready meals might be the least surprising things you'll see there
LOL at the pronunciation
Two of my favorites in one video–Chef James and Japan Eats. Now, let's get my third, Vincenzo in here! (And Brian Tsao and Frenchy and I'll be ecstatic.)
Japanese 7-11 is what it's supposed to look like….the US is the weird version of it
Oh my goodness, Japaneat on this channel!!!❤
Japan and their ready meals is impressive. A lot are freshly delivered that day, and reduced price sold at the end of the day to negate as much waste as possible still.
They also don't give a flying donkey about food authenticness and honestly? I kinda love them for it.
They make food for the Japanese palate and are zero apologetic about it. And why should they? The rest of the world did the same, before social media made it a problem.
I want to go to Japan just to check out the 7-11s. There are many YouTube videos about the 7-11s in Japan and the premade foods (and other stuff) they sell are varied and pretty good for what they are. Or so the YouTubers tell me.
He missed name checking Lionfield and QCP! 😅
I commented on Vincenzo's plate video awhile ago asking him to review this 😢 but he didn't see my comment I guess because he hasn't responded to him yet and it's been so long. I think I might have to call one of my many japanese friends and tell them that they forgot that this pasta needs HEINZ mustard and ask them to tape a packet of it the container just so they can add it and since they don't know any better they will buy the pasta and add mustard 😂. Oh by the way adding a small amount of yellow mustard actually does work for this pasta and tastes good but then again I add ketchup to my vanilla ice cream so 😅
The large amount of food container makes me think they throw a LOOot of food. Hope I'm wrong. Perhaps it becomes livestock food.
Saw this from Japan Eat and NOW you’re reacting to it! Yay!😅😂
I love that this channel gave references to Vincenzo and Chef James like they’re pop culture references. Well, they are now.
I doubt Japan has an abundance of pecorino romano.
