Today Piero is making a bold and traditional Homemade Salsa Verde — a vibrant, punchy green sauce that goes perfectly with meats, fish, vegetables, and even crusty bread. This classic Italian condiment is packed with herbs, capers, anchovies, and just the right touch of olive oil for balance.
Fresh, simple, and full of flavour — once you make this from scratch, you’ll use it on everything.
Ingredients:
Fresh Basil
1 teaspoon Nuts
2 teaspoons Capers
1 Boiled Egg Yolk
Half a Garlic Clove
10 Olives (optional)
7 Anchovies
Breadcrumbs soaked in white wine vinegar
Fresh Parsley
Cracked Black Pepper
A touch of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
👨🍳 Piero’s Tips
Finely chop everything by hand for the best texture — don’t over-blend it. Add the olive oil slowly until you reach the perfect consistency. Taste before adding salt, as anchovies and capers already bring plenty of flavour. Let it rest for 10–15 minutes before serving so the flavours come together beautifully.
