Looking out over the bustling Grand Canal, interior designer Roger Thomas’s Venice home is filled with light and the dancing reflections of the water below.

For more extraordinary home tours, visit our website: https://homeworthy.com/

Over the course of a remarkable 55-year career, Roger designed hotels, residences, yachts, aircraft, and restaurants, spending four decades as the creative force behind the world of Steve Wynn.

Roger welcomes us into his Venetian apartment, a richly layered home where centuries-old European antiques sit alongside baroque paintings of Saint Sebastian and sleek mid-century Italian furniture.

Deeply shaped by its setting, this apartment takes cues from both the historic architecture of the building and the story of Venice itself—from the terrazzo floors underfoot to the canal just beyond the windows.

Drama and elegance unfold room by room, creating a beautiful fantasy grounded in a profound sense of place.

  1. This is restraint and drama in perfect balance. Nothing feels staged or decorative for the sake of it — every piece feels earned, layered, and deeply rooted in place. A home that truly belongs to Venice. Roy & Peter South Africa

  2. A wonderful host and an amazing home. What an incredible collection of art and furnishings. The views are breathtaking. Thank you so much for sharing.

  3. What an amazing place. I like old places. The areas that had total tear outs look a lot like high end hotels (for good and bad). Impeccably done.

  4. We are around the same age. I’ve had well educated design teachers in my life who’ve imparted this level of knowledge to me and as a young woman I literally hung on every word. I hope this gentleman shares his encyclopedic gifts with younger designers coming up in the ranks.

  5. Roger is totally mesmerizing. I think this is HW's best episode ever and I'll watch it over and over. Thank you so much!

  6. This has been such an interesting watch,what don't I like .
The view when you walk into the salon is amazing but then when you move around the apartment it's beautiful.
Love the main bathroom and the shell chair is so beautiful.
A very knowledgeable gent and I love the photo he showed us of himself and hubby on the balcony.
    A very lucky couple .
    Thank you for the tour.

  7. I could use every positive word possible to describe this home like all the other comments .
But I’d like to add : he is a master class in how to present a home –
fluid , thorough ,informative, interesting — complete — not a wasted word !

  8. Exquisite. Their extraordinary selections curated to form a personal and rich experience. It was an education. Thank you. ⚜️⚜️⚜️

  9. Teucer didn’t shoot the arrow into Achilles’ heel (they were on the same side). Paris did.
    Apart from that… amazing home!

  10. What a fabulous place. I agree with him that lightbulbs should never be seen. A Homeworthy episode worth watching!

  11. I love that he has a "signature saint"! And what a nice home! It's amazing what you can do with a bit of money and craftsman who can materialize your imagination!

  12. Thank you Mr. Thomas for inviting us into your beautiful and luxurious home. Exquisite pieces of art combined telling a wonderful history.

  13. When I travel to Las Vegas I only stay at Wynn properties so this is a joy to watch. I also didn't know the backstory of Saint Sebastian and will add a print to my home art collection. What a fantastic and inspirational home! Bravo, home worthy!!!
