February’s Italian Wine & Pasta Club at Corso features Chianti Classico Riserva, Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, and comforting pasta—perfect for Valentine’s Day and winter dinners. These selections are all about warmth, generosity, and connection—wines meant to be poured freely and enjoyed together around the table.
This month’s Wine Duo brings together two rich, approachable Italian reds, perfect for cozy winter dinners, shared plates of pasta, and Valentine’s Day meals at home.
We start with Gran Passione Rosso 2024 from Veneto, a plush blend of Corvina and Merlot. Smooth, fruit-forward, and immediately inviting, it offers notes of ripe cherry, plum, dark berries, and soft baking spice. This is an easygoing, crowd-pleasing red—ideal for pizza night, comforting pasta dishes, or simply opening a bottle without overthinking it.
Next, La Valentina “Spelt” Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Riserva 2021 shows the deeper, more refined side of Montepulciano. Layers of dark berry fruit, dried herbs, and subtle earth are balanced by polished tannins and a long, smooth finish. Rich yet elegant, it’s a beautiful pairing for roasted meats, mushroom dishes, or a candlelit Valentine’s dinner.
February’s Premier Wine Selection is a standout:
Castellare “Il Poggiale” Chianti Classico Riserva 2022, one of Tuscany’s benchmark expressions of Sangiovese. Aged for added complexity, it balances vibrant red cherry fruit with dried herbs, cedar, and warm spice. Firm yet refined tannins give the wine structure and aging potential, while remaining deeply expressive and soulful right now—perfect with steak, braised meats, or rich pasta dishes.
To complete the experience, this month’s Pasta & Sauce is classic Fettuccine with Pomodoro Sauce (vegetarian), paired with a chunk of 18-month Parmigiano Reggiano. Simple, timeless, and designed to let both the food and the wines shine.
🍷 Club pickups begin the second Monday of each month—mark your calendar and don’t forget to watch the 2-minute video for tasting notes and pairing tips.
