An Italian Sausage Pasta with a twist! This recipe is my twist on a traditional sausage pasta! It’s medium spice- so be ready for some flavorful heat. I used pepper jack cheese instead of parmesan to add a spicy, cheesy, melt in your mouth experience. Try this recipe out and let me know how much you love it!
Italian Sausage Pasta Recipe:
Boil Penne Pasta al dente, set aside.
2 cups of smoked sausage
1/4 cup of minced garlic
1/3 chicken broth
1 cup of bell peppers (red)
1 can of diced tomatoes
1 cup of heavy cream
1 heaping tbs of cilantro, garlic powder, basil, and red pepper flakes
Salt to taste
1 cup or more of pepper jack cheese
Cook minced garlic until browned over medium heat then add bell peppers and sausage. Add chicken broth and spices and cover for 5-8 mins. Add diced tomatoes, cream and penne. Mix well, cover for another 5 min. Lower heat and simmer after adding pepper jack cheese.
