FOX News Channel’s “The Five” co‑host Jessica Tarlov joins me on this episode of Wich Wine. Jessica picked Puffy’s Tavern — a true Tribeca staple and exactly the kind of place you crave when you want a beer and a damn good sandwich. We ordered The Matteo: Prosciutto, Fresh Mozzarella, Arugula & their not-so-secret dressing that hits all the right pleasure buttons.

For the pairing, we went with Vignai da Duline Schioppettino, a lighter red from northeastern Italy with a peppery lift that plays perfectly with the Arugula and saltiness of the Prosciutto. A wine that doesn’t overpower, it just shows up and does its job. As Jessica’s dad always said: wine has one job, to be delicious.

Jessica had just gotten back from Disney with her family, so this felt like the most New York thing possible, decompressing from vacation with a sandwich and a glass of wine before she was heading to the studio to film Fox News show: The Five.
