Join me on an overnight mini cruise aboard P&O Ferries’ Pride of Hull, travelling from the UK to mainland Europe by train, bus and ferry 🚆🚌🚢
This journey starts in London, boarding a Grand Central train north — with a tense moment in Doncaster as I almost miss my connection to the Northern Rail train. After arriving in Hull, I take the bus transfer from Hull Paragon Interchange to the port before boarding the impressive Pride of Hull.
Notes – this video is NOT sponsored by P&O
– the hjstoric company name is incorrectly stated as Pacific & Orient. it should be Peninsula & Oriental
Once onboard, I explore the ship with a full cabin tour, dinner onboard, a look around the public spaces, and an evening in the Show Bar. This video shows what it’s really like to travel on an overnight North Sea ferry, including sleeping onboard. Also comparing the crossing with the DFDS offering from Newcastle.
The next morning, we arrive into Europort, followed by the coach transfer into Rotterdam’s Central station, completing this overnight mini cruise experience.
If you enjoy ferries, overnight crossings, train travel, mini cruises, or alternative ways to travel across Europe, this video is for you.

Love these videos thanks Carl.
The company P&O who changed their UK staff by Philipines.😡😡😡
It’s not pacific & oriental shipping company
It’s….
Peninsular and Oriental shipping company
Hi Carl Paul in Kent great video always look forward to them
Proper breakfast…. good work!!
Another good video thanks Carl
Another brilliant video, love watching them, especially with the dry humour included!
Nice video. I've done this route about 5 times and I prefer doing Rotterdam to Amsterdam on the mini cruise as you get more time and is less crowded and has a great waterfront. The outdoor space on the ships is very limited conpared to Newcastle to Amsterdam
Thank your for this nice videos
– There were an other service from Hull to Zeebruge, Belgium. Departing from an other terminal and just after leaving the Berth, ferry had to go trough a lock. Was very impressive.
– has P&O also overseas crews on bord ? As the ferry is registred in Bahamas.
– interessting this ferry has a car access along the ferry, it's quiet unusual !
Cool video, enjoyed the jokes. Some great filming of the accent of the stairs – wonder who the cameraman was?
I love watching your videos as you always give me ideas at a budget. So i just returned from 4 day holiday to Tenerife where it was 22c and sunny flying from my local airport, Inverness AIrport, flying with EasyJet via Luton. So it wasn’t under £200 travel & accommodation, slightly over at £280 in total. However I believe i could get it under the £200 mark, but would be December or January next year. We have EasyJet with frequent daily flights to Luton, Gatwick and Bristol AIrports, FlixBus finally arrived to Inverness and we also have Ember who provide electric coaches from Inverness to Aberdeen, Thurso, Edinburgh & Glasgow. With so much competition prices and choice of travel have made travel from Inverness cheap and much more enjoyable.
