  1. I’ve been biting my tongue (or well, sitting on my hands), but I can’t hold it in anymore. I get that South Africa prides itself on being multicultural, but we're two episodes in and the near-total absence of indigenous South African cuisine is glaring.

It makes me so so sad for the indigenous communities there. And to be honest as an Indonesian it hits close to home, especially as a native Bornean. I can’t help but think this could have easily been us if we hadn’t fought for our independence in 1945: a reality where colonial and foreign influences drown out the local heritage instead of enriching it.

  2. Guys please we have so many good places to eat. Go to some clean places. dont go to the Jhb cbd.

  3. And you went to all the wrong spots in Johannesburg, people who live in and around Johannesburg don’t go to these spots, what a waste of your trip. You had the whole of Gauteng but you chose a small part of town and didn’t expand your horizons and go to actual, loved spots around Johannesburg. Never listen to those who “take you to spots that are full of history “. They take you where they prefer, not what’s actually liked by locals in the East, West, South and north of Johannesburg. Shame

  4. I’m maybe really white in this opinion but are you being safe eating from really small places on the roadside?

  5. Sorted Food guys in South Africa: There is literally Italian, Chinese AND Indian cuisine all in the same area
Me walking down Neilston Rd in Paisley: Yeah mate

  6. Im so jealous of that coffee! That's the freshest coffee you can get! Ive only seen a handful of cups of coffee with the oil slick on top, and it ruined me, in a good way. That was the absolute best coffee to ever hit my tongue. Phenomenal stuff im sure they were drinking!

  7. I'm loving the South African series. Thank you for doing this. My family is from SA and we are also Chinese. I'm really glad your guide, Charlie showed you how diverse it really is in SA. My parents and grandmother were born there and I always get a look when people don't believe that there are Asians in SA. I'm from Canada! Looking forward to the rest of the series. So glad you had a braai, twice! And had boereworse and miele pap.❤🇿🇦

  8. 26:00 I live within viewing distance of a nuclear power plant's cooling tower. These are nuclear power plant cooling towers. Are they connected to a (possibly no longer in use) nuclear power plant? Or did someone decide to copy the design of a cooling tower just to build a landmark?

  9. Watching these as a South African is so weird lol, being able to pick out brands and locations etc is so unusual for me. Did you like the Flying Fish? lol

  10. I wish I knew you guys were here – I live right next to Chinatown and would have loved to give you some more local recommendations!

  11. I love Jamie on these trips. He would easily be able to do these travel vlogs solo. But I love Ben’s chef input.

Bez is just pure love and fun. Which you always need. 😂

  12. This was arguably the worst South African food tour I have ever witnessed. The first mistake was getting a Zimbabwean tour guide. His history of the city was littered half truths. Terrible!

  13. To the sorted gang. You haven't experienced South Africa if you haven't had a braai before watching a big rugby match. Either in Cape town, Durban or Loftus Versfeld (Pretoria)

  14. This must be the most uninteresting food program I have ever watched😱woke bs and I will not touch 80% of the food.

  15. As a South African, I love these videos!!* But I do wish there were other South African foods that you also tried like "potjie kos", malva pudding, "melktert", "pannekoek" (it's not normal pancakes😂), and of course "koeksisters"
But once again, love to see you guys in our country and showing off our culture and food!!*❤
