We tried street food from around the world that we had genuinely never heard of – and some of it was utterly bizarre!! From wild snack bags to infamous offal rolls and rare dishes, this might be the most surprising global street food tasting we’ve ever done.
Today, two normal home cooks go head-to-head, trying to identify where these iconic street foods come from… before tasting them. Some were instant favourites. Others were, uh… a challenge 😅
Street food is one of the most exciting ways to experience global cuisine – raw, local, chaotic and brilliant – and these four dishes prove just how creative and unexpected it can get across different cultures.

:20 thought it was going to be a walking taco for a second there ⁽ᵃᵖᵖᵃʳᵉⁿᵗˡʸ ᶜᵃˡˡᵉᵈ ᶠʳᶦᵗᵒˢ ᵖᶦᵉ ᵃˢ ʷᵉˡˡ⁾
For some of the recipes, can we actually get a min vid of Kush talking us through them?
me screaming BREAKFAST FANTUAN yassssss
Until now I had no idea Dim chop is this popular in the globe, and I have yet to eat a dim chop with mashed egg for a filling
Kolkota is in West Bengal (India), so… that was a bit naughty to not give them the point.
kokorec, its pretty common in greece too. Its called kokoretsi. food history in our countries are complicated.
Everything looks delicious! But how are India and Bangladesh 700 miles apart if they share a border?
"I LEARNED THIS FROM YOU!" hits hard xD LMAO!
Calling the first a dish is a stretch
Was way off with the first one, good job Barry. Doritos, can't stop eating MSG. Was only close on the Turkish one, went with Greece.
2:50 the chips remind me of hot sauce on potato chips . . . Or walking tacos . . . Or nachos
Glad you guys are showing more food from Taiwan! It's a country of small eats and street foods. Hoping you guys can visit someday!
Fantuan is more common without the nori, and it is really easy as a grab and go, chinese version of onigiri. For kids, it is also fun to squish the sticky rice, shaping it back into a ball again. ☺
I got so excited that I guessed Taiwan!
Sorry guys, but that last one was 100% the groningse eierbal from the netherlands
First time I have heard youtiao called crolla
i guessed taiwan right 😂
Picked up on the fantuan immediately, one of my favourite go-to Taiwanese breakfasts. I don't think I've had it wrapped in seaweed and it's more commonly made with white rice, still appreciate that they included it though!
Kokoretsi is Greek my dude…
Still no Swedish Kebab Pizza "Special" – Typical, heavily sauced Swedish kebab pizza, but loaded up with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and onion after cooking (and very heavy on the sauce). Occasionally with fries (although the fries are often a separate, non-sallad version)
It's basically a full Shawarma platter/Shawarma sallad dumped onto a pizza base
Kinda feels good to know that I would have gotten all 4 spot on. Also, Tajin is pronounced “ta-hEEn”, not “taw-hin”
Challenges like these should focus more on small countries or less obvious foody countries. There is so much to learn and discover outside of india, thailand, italy and all the rest obvious ones.
Said this years ago… 3 pts is too high for a real game. Hit is spot on and it is basically over. 2 pts would be more competitive!
Whoever made the first snack has either never had a Doriloco and made it with whatever they found around their snack cabinet or they were smoking some really strong Zaza
W00t return of one of my fav series!
Kokoreç I did not enjoy as much as the Kretan Kokoretsi, which was not just intestines but all types of offal with the intestines wrapped around. Not a lot of spices, just oregano and lemon. I bought kokoreç from a turkish butcher, frozen like here, but that really, really strongly smelled of what's normally in the intestine 🙂
Screw that – 4 is an eierbal!
Hear a name in Chinese…
"It must be New Zealand!"
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You don't need to edit in fake crunch noises. Please stop doing that.
nope thats dutch coloniolisme . that right there is a fryské eirball but withe local spice
How about a “fake” dish in this format as well?
Oh I know the Turkey one. We went few times on vacation there and my dad always gets that.
Global food from around the world is tautological. Either phrase is enough, you really don’t need both.
Guessed Mexico & Taiwan!! The Turkey one was a freebie because of the wrapper.
Hi ! I am from Asia and I just came across this channel recently. It's so interesting to see the street food from all around the World. Thank you so much 😊😊
That first one is just pregnancy cravings
Back when I was living in Taiwan, my coworker used to pick up fantuan once a week in a morning 🥹 good memories of 9 of us together, all from different countries, eating this together
That first one is disgusting, Doritos should not exist, they are vile.
ONLY THE SECOND TIME I'VE GOTTEN ONE SPOT ON! Let's go Turkey!!!!
First time getting full points 💯 ❤
As soon as I hurd chamoy I knew
Was soooo exciting to see a Bangladeshi dish!!! Honestly there are so many more to discover!
My habit of watching street food vendor videos at 3 am did me a favor locating the offal-in-a-bun.
10:17… Korean?
Wife and I always play. Never get any! This week she scores the first direct hit and I get the next 3!! 🎉
Sorry but traditionally fan tuan don't have seaweed on the outside. Fan tuan in Taiwan would be served in a plastic bag from a street vendor and would never have a separate plastic film for the nori. That's reserved for Japanese style onigiri from the convenient store only. Proper Taiwanese fan tuan have a ton of flavors from all the different ingredients in it
That said happy to see food from Taiwan being featured ❤
Always love when they feature snacks from taiwan!
For “fantuan”, people here either like the traditional and tamed flavour(usually older people), find it very cost effective(a whole meal for less than a dollar) or very often will draw from the original thing but transform it with all kinds of flavour and all kinds of filling!!!
Mexico, Greece, South Korea, USA
