First Sergeant (Res.) Yehuda Lapian is a dedicated IDF combat veteran who served over 179 days on the front lines in Gaza and Lebanon during the ongoing war. A former Knesset advisor strengthening Israel-U.S. ties, Yehuda, born in New York, grew up in Jerusalem, now serves as Community Manager for the Peace of Mind program, supporting IDF veterans’ mental health and civilian transition. Passionate about equal IDF conscription and veteran rights, he’s a vocal advocate on TV and at demonstrations. An avid ice swimmer and proud Israeli, Yehuda shares inspiring stories of resilience, faith, and brotherhood from the war.
Yehuda also shares his experience with Indian spirituality that has helped him through his combat days and reserve duty. He advocates for it and wishes to visit India someday.

They love coming to India not for the beaches or yoga, but for the privilege it gives them.
The lighter skin, foreign status, and outsider perception let them be treated like royalty while locals are pushed aside.
It’s entitlement disguised as tourism—they exploit social hierarchies, get served first, pay less, and wield status simply because of how they look.
This isn’t harmless travel behavior—it’s clearly racist.
Many Israelis in India don’t integrate, don’t respect local norms, and actively seek entitlement.
They use their skin, foreignness, and perceived “special status” to dominate spaces, getting priority and perks while locals are sidelined.
In some beach clubs, they get prime spots reserved while locals are pushed to the edges.
In yoga retreats, they often pay less than Indian students for the same courses and get extra attention from instructors.
Restaurants sometimes upgrade their meals or give freebies automatically, while Indian patrons pay full price.
At festivals or desert camps, they get VIP access, front-row experiences, and exclusive interactions, while locals wait behind ropes or for leftovers.
Even transport and guides sometimes prioritize them over local travelers, treating the locals as secondary.
It’s exploitation, pure and simple, and mirrors the same kind of racial hierarchy they claim to oppose elsewhere.

I am an Indian. There are many similarities between India & Israel. Both are surrounded by common enemies who do not want to live in peace with their neighbours. I was particularly impressed by the soldiers mature responses and his admirable qualities to go help his fellow soldiers in spite of his own difficulties and constant times being called out for duties. He has certainly learned to keep his composure despite all effects of war duties. Israel should be proud of such a soldier.

BTW, all the retired soldiers of Israel can visit India's Himalaya and can meditate with Gurus and Monks and also enjoy hiking and food. It won't fix completely but certainly help you calm your nerves. But stay away from Indian Muslim community, they also have hate for Jews and Israel.
