STORY
Tucked away in the rolling hills of the Portuguese countryside, this rural manor was once the centre of a bustling farmstead. Built in the late 18th or early 19th century on older farmland, its barns, lofts, storerooms and working well speak of a life rooted in livestock, grain and the seasonal surpluses gathered beneath clay-tiled roofs.
Behind thick masonry and whitewashed façades, a family lived in comfortable elegance. Shaded porches offered respite from the harsh summer sun, while inside, iconic azulejo tiles and hanging chandeliers still hint at a home once marked by quiet refinement.
Scattered among the papers left behind, we found a half-written letter, a ledger and a bank slip tying the manor to a private loan. We learn of “Beatriz”, whose wedding was postponed when she discovered the debt. A trunk left half-packed in the bedroom suggests her departure was sudden—perhaps driven by betrayal. “Duarte” left for the city in search of funds, while “Tomás” closed the office “temporarily.” Then… the trail goes cold.
Join us as we uncover a story half-known, inside a Portuguese manor that left us with more questions than it answered.

Fantastic place! Great vid guys!! You are doing a service to history by capturing these places on video before they collapse! 🙂
Trolling the audience with every "link it up here" promise 😂
I believe the chair (time ca 21:25 in the video 😅) maybe is a leananing-chair and the the extra under the arm-rest is ment to turn over the legs and hold the book when u lean back and f.ex read bed-time stories?😊
GRAETZ is a German television brand from the 1950s.
That chair with the movable arm pieces looks like a plantation chair. The pieces extend the arms straight out to put your legs up. It is British colonial style
Love how tiles are in all rooms beautiful home thanks for sharing 👍 😀
At 31:25 it was so beautiful a scene when you looked outside, it could be a painting. So lovely ☺️
Thank you, Leslie! So beautiful. The Leather Bound book with the latches in a Roman Catholic Church Missel (seasonal daily mass readings.) Harpsichord. The pieces that swing out from the arms of the chair, is made to hold Embroidery to work on while seated.
The red Portuguese bench is much like an Adirondack chairs here in America❤
That beautiful built in cabinet with the blue tile around it looked to me like a breadbox
Anyone know about the chair and arm section that swing out? (in the bedroom w painted flowers on furniture)

I love your channel. You showcase details, so inclusive. The furniture, China, woodwork details, etc. My favorite Victorian exploration channel. Subscribed and like every video.
A garderobe is generally a term for a privy (toilet) but also a term for a place for valuables or clothing – yet wardrobe is more frequestly used as the term for storage of clothing.😊
Why did You talk like if it was some one on the next room ? 😂
Beautiful. Explore once again my dear Lesley Love your. Explores the vintage and. History You give us thanks again for letting us us. Explore with you both from. Melbourne Victoria Australia
Where I live, the nickname for those plants that are everywhere is "money plant". Looks like that chair with the adjustable arms can be made to lean back. The gallery (long hallway) with its arched ceiling is very special.
10:22 Hate to sound macabre but the center of that floor looks like the remainder of a slaughter!
The places you go are creepy and saddening. I wish you would just stop.
Yeah, great find. The mix of Italian and Portuguese touches in the architecture really says a lot about the owners.
15:13 And that musty smell is kind of soothing when it’s an old place.
the small ironing board is called a sleeve Board used for shirt sleeves , worked well
Will you get in trouble if found?
That is beautiful. Thanks for sharing. I think the chair you weren't sure about may have been used for relaxing with your legs resting on the movable parts.
19:25 I have a vase full of those right now how beautiful
