Hi all! I got this cute baby onesie for my cousin who is expecting. However, one of the pastas has me totally confused & is driving me nuts!
Whenever I search ‘pile pasta’ I just get images of huge piles of pasta 😅
Any help identifying or figuring out if this is a nickname for another pasta (or a typo) would be much appreciated.

Could it be pill pasta, though those are usually very tiny like pastina.
Im not sure honestly. Even if it was supposed to be ‘pill pasta’ the picture doesnt look like a pasting or anything more tubular but im unfamiliar with anything like that.
Im actually really curious because I have no idea what that could mean
Pipe rigate is a short, curved, hollow pasta with ridges (rigate) and a wide opening, resembling a snail shell or smoking pipe, excellent at trapping chunky meat sauces, creamy sauces, or baked in dishes like macaroni and cheese due to its shape and rough texture.
Maybe it’s a type error?
Edit: I did a Google Deep Dive:
Intended Name: The actual name for this type of short, curved, hollow pasta is most likely “pipe” or “pipe rigate”.
I have no help to offer, but that is a super cute onesie
It almost looks like paccheri, but extra wide and short.
the shape reminds me of a paccheri but the word under doesnt quite match up
Maybe it’s supposed to be pici, which is thick, long, hand-rolled pasta.
That is the cutest onesie, sorry I have no help on the pasta type, I also think it’s a typo of some sort
I’m no help but please tell me where this onesie is from???
That’s Pile
The closest shape I can find is Calamarata (named because it resembles calamari rings). [Savoring Italy has a good visual](https://www.savoringitaly.com/pasta-calamarata/)
It’s giving paccheri to me
After you find out what kind of pasta that is, will you let me know where you got that super cute onesie? My first grand baby is due this summer and I’m already shopping!
Looks like cooked paccheri or calamarata.
Its not a real pasta shape it is an AI design
