Bangers, mash with a side of live poetry? What a way to start the year!

Poet, comedian, actor and screenwriter, Tim Key joins Nick and Angela after a big year, including the release of The Ballad of Wallis Island, the critically acclaimed film he co-wrote and stars in alongside longtime collaborator and friend Tom Basden. Based on a short they made nearly two decades ago, the film has gone on to win three British Independent Film Awards. Not bad going. Tim also chats about and shares a sneak peek of his new poetry book L.A. Baby! and his stand-up show Loganberry.

With a Five Points beer in hand, Angela serves a sticky sausage and apple braise, a sweet twist on a British classic. The dish is paired with a glass of Château Maris Organic Les Planels, selected by the Waitrose wine team.

Post bangers and mash, and with an Amaretto tipple in hand, the trio get into life’s bigger questions: Where do you draw the line on what’s acceptable to eat in the bath? Could Tim live without his sieve? And should fish and chips ever be eaten anywhere other than the chippy? With a laugh as infectious as Angela’s and stories to match, Tim helps deliver a properly bumper episode to kick off the year!

  1. She's so comfortably normal & so incredibly exceptional all at once – that's a rare combo

  2. I Absolutely Love Tim as Alan Partridge's sidekick Simon. If ever I feel sad I watch the Fashion show clip, it's so funny. 😂

  3. Honestly, as somebody who sometimes struggles to be assertive and stand up for themselves, I aspire to be more like Tabitha. She takes no BS! A professional woman!

  4. I started watching for the guest at first, but really stayed for both the host. They are both so lovely and entertaining.

  5. Only because somehow we made it to the end of that entire clip without anyone actually answering the question, the answer was obviously "Olive Garden".
