Eat up! 🪙🎆🎉
What traditions do you have for NYE!? Comment 👇
..
This tradition is celebrated by Italians all over the world. It dates all the way back to Ancient Romans who gave lentils in a purse (scarsella) as a New Year’s gift to symbolize good fortune and prosperity.
✅ From a culinary medicine perspective, lentils are a rich source of dietary fiber, plant protein, and other micronutrients. They’re also very convenient due to their shelf, stability and versatility. So I say, eat up!

Mine are a black eyed peas for money sausage and cabbage for luck and cornbread for gold oh and collard greens for health
It’s interesting to see the different traditions around the world. In Spain, they eat 12 grapes, one for each strike of the midnight clock. I think it has something to do with the wine they produce maybe?
Who cares

Yes, and we can see Italy is more prosperous every year goes by😂😂 jking, happy NY
