A New Year’s Eve celebration at the Le Constellation bar in the Swiss ski resort town of Crans-Montana ended in tragedy when a fire broke out, killing 40 people and injuring 119 others.
Investigators say they believe the blaze was sparked by sparkling candles atop Champagne bottles, which likely ignited the ceiling when held too close. Authorities are now probing whether the sound-dampening ceiling material met safety standards, whether the candles were legally permitted, and if other safety measures — including fire extinguishers and escape routes — were in place.
Officials have called this one of the deadliest tragedies in Switzerland’s history, and prosecutors warn that criminal charges may follow if negligence is found.

Every movie shows – nothing like anti fire system didn't exist there, that means owners are direcly responsible for all death there. Other dark problem – look how many strong, young Swiss bulls survived and how many young girls died there. That shows how 'heroic' Swiss men were inside – eliminating all weak persons in fight for life – fists, kicks and little angels were dead on the floor and Swiss bulls alive. Listen to their words – girls were in their arms and suddenly – blick, magically – on the floor and they left them there, simply left -as they say, magically o yeah really?
Similar thing happened at a wedding somewhere in the middle east inside a tent a few years old I recall.

Acoustic panels on the ceiling of anyplace other than a sound studio are a very bad idea. Very tragic

A friend who manages a club says there is a note on the sparklers which says they cannot cause a fire. But, obviously they did cause a fire in this case.

this reminds of the the station nightclub fire that also broke out in USA in 2003; same thing: they had fireworks indoors, and also ignited acoustic foam and burned the bar down; not good enough exits, bouncers would not let people use exits; it was a mess and 100 people died in that bar. you can watch videos online of it and people screaming on fire crying to get out. it was a scary thing seeing piles of people trying to leave through the front door like a bunch of ants toppled onto each other going nowhere.

Apart from prosecuting the bar owners for manslaughter, a criminal investigation should be also launched who was responsible for issuing a bar licence. Apparently rigorous checks for compliance with non-flammable materials and sufficient emergency exits have not been checked. Switzerland – always being lauded as the country with the highest standards has failed miserably. You have lost my respect!
Where’s the sprinkler at?? How can u have a bar in this day and age without sprinklers? Anytime you modify an existing building you need to bring it up to code, im surprised they let you do this in europe of all places. In the US i have never done a commercial or multifamily residential buildings without sprinklers. Bizarre … all the more bizarre is that they didn’t hesitate to light up fire indoor, in a non sprinklered building, with combustible materials on the ceiling? 😅😅😅

Those people there were the ones at fault.. they sealed their own demise. We've seen the vidoes online for them, just sitting there, while the whole ceiling was on fire, and they didnt care. Complete brainrot.
