It’s an old saying, but where you have been is almost as important as where you are going and ultimately makes you who you are today. Chef Gabrielle Hamilton has traveled the world, but sometimes, it’s good to go back to your roots. Gabrielle makes Spit Roasted Rabbit and remembers her childhood visits to a Philadelphia Italian pork market. [Originally aired in 2015]

The Mind of a Chef
Narrated by Executive Producer Anthony Bourdain, The Mind of a Chef combines cooking, travel, history, humor, art and science into a cinematic journey, each episode capturing another glorious flicker from the mind of its subject and focusing on what it truly means to cook, think, create and live in the food-obsessed world that is The Mind of a Chef.

Man this show was fantastic!
That woman and I connected when she talked about childhood in the woods and in streams. I'm older than her, but for many centuries, children lived that life. Unless they were put to work at 4 years old . . .
Keep bringing back the oldies. "What I had of childhood was brief and brilliant" 😢
I miss this series.
❤🎉
I love her "kid in the candy store moment" was being in an amazing old school Italian Deli or "Pork Market" as they call it in the description. Beautiful stuff!
