  1. This type of list is the best kind of list. Wines that surprise, wines that excite you. Something new that makes you go "Where was THIS my whole life?"

  2. While I do not expect to see these particular labels on the shelves of stores here in the USA, this video is valuable in that it presents diferent varietals and regions to explore from what is available. And that is part of the fun of wine. Always something new and delicious. The big takeaway is that remarkable wines are obtainable for remarkably affordable prices. Thanks for that. I am a big fan of sparkling wine and happy to see a bubbly at #1. A much better Top 10 than those of some recent wine publications. 😉👍🍾🍷

  3. My top wines of 2025 – Palmer 2016, Guigal La Turque 2015, Montrose 2009, Castillo Ygay 2012, Ermitage L’Oree 2019, Sudiirant 2009,
Barolo Aleste Sandrone 2019, Ducrou Beaucallaiu 2010 and Amarone Fieramonte Alegrini 2016

  4. Love the videos, but please up your music game. You have a very modern and fashionable Agnes, often talking about cutting edge wines and then you mix that with a rinky dink piano soundtrack. You don’t need to fade up honky tonk piano every time there is a two second pause in the dialogue. Play something ambient, modern if you think you need music, but other wine influencers just talk without some weird, incongruous 1950’s music.

  5. 8:24 not all good austrian wine is prized so high… 😅 i hope you visit dorli muhr one day here in Austria. I would recommend ebner-ebenauer as well.

  6. Some great wines here Agnese, but you do need to go beyond Europe. Have you ever considered a trip to Niagara, south of Toronto? Beautiful cool climate Pinot Noir, Cab Franc, Riesling and more. Would be great to see some new world wines, as well. You may be pleasantly surprised!?! 😄

  7. Gee, it's such a shame that you don't enjoy your profession! 🤣😂🤣 Seriously, it's the palpable joy and pleasure that you take in these wines and the memories they evoke that best convey what great wine can offer. Thank you for this list, which offers so much to discover, and much of it at astonishingly reasonable price points.

  8. Great list! And much more inspiring than the WS list. You are so happy opening that Mesters. Who wouldn’t want that??!
When I went to Bourgogne this summer I found wines I would never have found if I stayed at home. Some only sold directly at the estate. And as a bonus the wines were just as exiting – if not more so – when I tasted them at home. I do have some travel plans for 2026. Excited already.

  9. Your top 10 wines look so delicious Agnese ❤👄🍷🍾🌭🍔🍕! Happy Holidays! ❤🎉

  10. It's nice to see a varied list. If I attempted to put together top ten lists of wine and spirits for this year, there would be a wide variety, and they wouldn't all be expensive bottles. It often seems like the big wine critics are too narrowly focused and don't fully appreciate the incredible variety that is out there. Lately, I find the local wine bars and channels like this one to be the best sources of information.

  11. Intriguing as ever, Agnese, and your passion always shines through! Can't share my WOTY as I haven't gone through my notes yet.

Since – after long years of abstinence – I have developed a rather recent fascination with sparkling wines, I'm particularly intrigued by your presentation of the Mestres. I have rushed to get my hands on some. 🍾🥂

  12. Nice list!

My wine of the year: Clos Venturi Brama 2023

Clos Venturi sits in northern Corsica, just outside Patrimonio. So no Patrimonio label here just Corsica or Vin de Corse. It’s not a compromise on quality, just a little geographic and stylistic freedom.

The scenery is dramatic: mountains on one side, sea on the other. Lots of sun, cool nights, and almost constant wind. Grapes that ripen without heaviness, giving wines that are lively, fresh, and full of tension.

The estate is run by Jean-Marc Venturi and his son Manu, and they’re absolute top-tier Corsica. They farm biodynamically, keep yields low, and intervene as little as possible. These wines aren’t built to flex, they’re made to whisper the terroir’s secrets.

“Brama” means longing in Corsican. It’s their take on Sciaccarellu, a grape that favors finesse over brute force. Think Pinot Noir or Nebbiolo, not a heavy southern red. Light in color, aromatic, elegant.

In the glass, expect red berries, wild strawberries, white pepper, and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, it’s light, fresh, with fine tannins and a long, spicy finish. This is a wine that doesn’t shout, it holds your attention like a charming rogue at a dinner party.

Brama proves Corsica isn’t a curiosity it’s a playground for lovers of tension and finesse.

  13. Wow, wow 😀 Great list! I never would have thought a Cava would be #1, but I think that's fantastic! It's okay if your list is Euro-centric (I could only find the Bordeaux and the Guigal available in the U.S. market), we all have our geographic restrictions. Since you asked…here are my top 10 wines from 2025: 2022 Revana Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (opened too young, but like you said, great wines are great no matter when they are opened), Ruinart Blanc de Blancs Brut (purchased after your video with Frédéric Panaïotis), 2020 El Molino Napa Valley Pinot Noir (my first Pinot from Napa), 2014 Domaine de La Chapelle Hermitage La Chapelle Rouge, 2020 Roquette & Cazes Douro, 1992 Fonseca Vintage Port, 1976 Kopke Colheita Port, 2019 Bodegas Vilano La Barajo Ribera del Duero, 2023 St. Supery Napa Sauvignon Blanc, and the 2013 Château Suduirant Sauternes

  14. Loved seeing Mestres Cava at number one. I tasted Clos Damiana 2009 in Barcelona this year, and it was one of my best sparkling wine experiences — toasty, nutty, with great acidity and balance.

Would love to taste Mas Via side by side someday. Great list overall!

  15. You & your cameraman need to get your backsides to Australia, I would love to watch you experience our wines at their respective cellar doors. I have no doubt you would have a great time.

  16. Wines that make you stop and go wow! That is surely the single most important factor. Earlier in the year, after your raving about Dorli Muhr, I bought her 2019 Carnuntum entry level red blend (70% Blaufraenkisch / 29% Syrah), and it was absolutely delicious. I already knew there are great red wines from Burgenland – Moric, Gesellmann, etc.. Weirdly, her wines seem to be well priced in the UK, as you're absolutely right about the sadly rising price of Austrian wine.

    Good call on La Mouline.

I'd love to try the Mestres Cava but, when I can get Pol Roger NV champagne for £40, I'm not going to pay £70 for cava.

  17. I absolutely loved that moment with your #1 choice, where you poured a little, paused briefly then poured a little more, then gave the most delightful tiny giggle that demonstrated completely, just in that very moment, how much you truly adore the Mestres "Mas Via" GR Cava… Instantly made me want a bottle…!!! True passion that is… 🙂

  18. Thank you Agnese! This is the list we need. I’m so happy seeing a white wine from Greece and a red from Austria. I hope in 2026 you’ll make it to the Alentejo in Portugal and make the list. I know you like Syrah, so I’m also hoping to see Santa Barbara represented as well, as it’s my favorite.
    Cheers!

  19. I love your list! Exciting to see Beaujolais Cru here. One of my new wine drinking goals is to try all 10 of the crus – thus far I’ve only experienced Côte de Brouilly and Fleurie, but I’m making my way through slowly but surely! I also usually enjoy Villages as well!
Even though your list is very Europe-centric, thank you for still sharing wines that aren’t just Italy and France. The variety is good and shows your passion for different types of wine. A much more exciting list than Wine Spectator!
I’m definitely going to be looking out for that Roero Nebbiolo!

  20. The fact that you keep your La Mouline for a future occasion actually makes you so relatable! Mere mortals like us (your viewers) would certainly think twice before opening such a bottle so young, and wait for a special occasion. You’re still grounded, please keep that vibe!
    With love from France

  21. Since we started boycotting Californian wines I’ve learned so much about European wines. Thank you for sharing your passion.

  22. Here is my top 10 from 2025, it is a varied list with wines from Bulgaria, Wales and Greece among my favourites.
