This video is part 3 of our 5-part series where we dine at our top 5 Italian restaurants at Walt Disney World to see which one we think is the BEST. The table-service restaurants featured in this series are Trattoria al Forno at Disney’s BoardWalk Resort, Tony’s Town Square Restaurant at Magic Kingdom Park, Il Mulino at the Swan Resort, Ravello at the Four Seasons, and Via Napoli at EPCOT.

Il Mulino might be the most classically New York Italian restaurant on this list. The original location opened in 1981 in Greenwich Village, with Walt Disney World’s version opening at the Swan Resort in early 2007. Many of the notable dishes here are Italian-American classics. The Chicken Parmesan, in particular, stands out as our favorite on all of Disney World property. The interior features a dimly lit, rustic aesthetic, with wheels of Romano Parmesan cheese, wine, and open buckets of limoncello greeting guests as they walk in.

We started this series with Italian restaurants that aesthetically capture a classic Disney atmosphere, and Il Mulino marks our shift into restaurants that are more serious and more classically Italian. To us, the style of dining offered at Il Mulino feels the most like home. The portion sizes are large, the included courses are plentiful, the menu is filled with tri-state classics, and the interior truly feels like a rustic trattoria.

We’ve really only had positive experiences here in the past. Some visits were better than others, but overall we expected this restaurant to rank high on our list. That said, we’ve also had strong showings from both Tony’s Town Square and Trattoria al Forno. In this video, we break down everything included in a dining experience at Il Mulino. We cover how to get here, their signature dishes, the pricing, and whether we think this hidden gem in the EPCOT resort area is Walt Disney World’s BEST Italian restaurant.

  1. Good video. Many many years ago I went to the one in atlantic city new jersey. First time I ever had chicken parmesan with a bone lol

  2. Seems like magical prices in Disney. Have been to the one in Roslyn a number of times and each time has averaged $100 per person with no alcohol. They give you Grappa at the end which will light your mouth on fire. Lol. Same great chicken parm though.

  3. That was a great episode , I now know where to to for authentic Italian , thanks so much !🎉❤

  4. YUM…all of it looked delicious, I also love that Sam got a literal plate of chicken parmesan. It's great that so far there isn't a horrible restaurant.

  5. Good to see that you seem to have had a top 10% experience at each restaurant in this series allowing for a true comparison of their best. Hopefully that continues at the last two locations.

  6. Has anyone suggested you do a series on Italian/Italian-ish restaurants that are non-Disney? Like in the Orlando Disney Metro area.

  7. My Daughter took me there for my 60th birthday and it definitely did not disappoint. Awesome food and staff

  8. Thanks for the video guys. Now we have a new place we must go and try, because that Chicken Parmesan looked amazing!!
Too bad that won’t be for a few months 😢

  9. Hi Sam and Jay! Love IL MULINO! We think it’s one of Disney’s hidden gems.
We love their Arancini too. Next time, we’ll have to try the Chicken Parm. It looked so delicious.

  10. I’m from Buffalo, NY and this looks good for an Italian restaurant. I personally haven’t done any Italian at Disney (Only Vivo at Universal and that’s just ok) because none haven’t looked that good, but this I might have to try the next I am there. Great video!

  11. This series is so great! I'd never thought about getting Italian when in Florida, but this chicken parm may change my mind. Great review you guys ❤
