  1. I can't stand the glaze for "authentic" Italian food. Literally the most overrated and simplistic food. Italian American cuisine is so much better

  2. Of course its not the same thing as actual italian food, outside of fast italian food home made american italian food is the long process of italian immigrants making due with what they could and making something great out of it over generations. just because it doesnt use the same process or ingredients doesnt mean its doesnt have the same meaning for the families who make it.

  3. I’ve been to Italy. It’s good but she needs to calm down and frankly there are places in New York and New Jersey where you can get dishes every bit as amazing as what you find in Italy. Anytime you hear someone talking like this about Italian food or making that stupid claim that Guinness tastes different in Ireland they’re really just trying to flex on you and demonstrate how sophisticated they are because they sat on a plane and then ate food in a different country.

  4. Italian American food > Italian food. Sorry folks. Though their pasta is better quality/fresher. This woman is terrible

  5. This lady is exactly correct. Italian food is better in every way … the ingredients, the method of cooking, the serving method.

  6. Like with all American food, immigrants from Italy brought their dishes with them and then adapted the recipes to what was available in their new home. It’s one of the beautiful reasons why America has traditionally been called a melting pot. Immigrants bring stuff over and integrate it with things other immigrants brought.

  7. Spanish here, we used to eat NY style pizza until more restaurants made italian style pizza, she is 100% right. You dont have to be a pedant american to notice it, italian food is way better than what you do in the other side of the pond, even pepperoni for me feel like plastic in your mouth

  8. As someone who’s had Italian from Italy, from New York, and Olive Garden they all good af and ima eat ts in excess my nigga

  9. She literally negates her own fuckin point in the clip. She refers to it as Italian-American food then says “but that’s not Italian food” uhhh no shit you just said that???? It’s ITALIAN-AMERICAN NOT ONLY ITALIAN. WOW the level of stupid on her is off the charts

  10. Oh, okay, here. Let me help you guys out: imagine her voice pitched down an octave and coming from the middle of a goatee. Instant comedy

  11. People need to be muzzled for the first 3 months after coming back from a vacation to Italy. Even if their food is objectively better in every conceivable way, I don't want to hear about it 10 times a day.

  12. she is 100% right.
    And I am IN Italy.
Oh I know for a fact you have a selection of AMAZING italian restaurants. But the majority? What you think of as "italian food" in your cities?
    It's americanized tasty trash.
Stop putting fats and sugar everywhere ffs.

  13. Bro, I’ve been to Italy with my parents and I know Italians here that have immigrated, the grand majority of them like Italian American food too. The people that constantly try to shit on American Italian food are almost always just snobs that wouldn’t know good food if it hit them in the face and if they just let go of their idiocy and viewed both versions of the cuisine as just that, a different version, then they would probably like both like most of the normal human beings on the planet. Food snobs are some of the most annoying.

  14. Every American food, that has its origin outside America is trash. Everyone knows that, so what's the big deal all of a sudden? Always has been, always will be…

  15. Listen, food in US is garbage, we europeans when we come to US we are shocked how bland the food is and how much chemicals you put in it

  16. Thats why its called ITALIAN AMERICAN FOOD. Its an evolution on other food. And never. Have I ever. Watched anyone, for homemade food, put sugar in normal marinara or meat sauce. This is legit offensive and i thought I was pretty thick skinned.😂

  17. but that’s why she’s calling “italian-american” food. they call it that because it is something different. kind of like american-chinese food. orange chicken does not exist in china, does that mean it’s not bomb? no

  18. that person that visits italy once and they become a food critic meanwhile they grew up on twinkies and frozen dinners

  19. Ill never get over an American saying that someone is exaggerating and stereotyping when you listen to how they talk about british food

  20. Clearly she has never had good American Italian food. It's not all trash you have some really good food that isn't Olive Garden

  21. She’s insufferable but right. It ain’t real italian food, but I will stand by the fact that I have had better italian food in NY than anywhere in Italy.

  22. Italian food is just american food, masquerading as something else. I never had italian food, but I have eaten lasagna, spaghetti, pizza, ravioli, fettuccine alfredo, et cetera. I'm not a fan of those foods.

  23. Unbiased Italy vacationer here. Food is pretty solid there but under seasoned and overall bland. I’ve had better food from Italian restaurants in the area of my hometown in New Jersey. People that have visited Italy and swear by the food are lying to themselves to appear cultured

  24. Thats not italian people cooking like this. Italian American food is better than Italians because its Italian cooks making it to the American taste. Same shit with traditional Mexican food. Im Mexican and Mexican food in America is just better more flavor and everything.
