UNESCO has released its 2025 Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, which highlights living traditions such as festivals, music, crafts and rituals. More than 800 elements from 157 countries are now included. This year’s additions feature Deepavali, one of India’s most celebrated festivals, alongside Italian cooking. Other entries include Egypt’s koshary, Ghana’s highlife music and dance, Iceland’s swimming pool culture and Switzerland’s yodelling tradition. UNESCO says the inscription supports safeguarding efforts and can raise international visibility. Italy and China have both reported tourism gains following recent heritage listings. UNESCO also operates a fund to support preservation projects.

  1. Palki ji there is nothing for India to be proud off with Diwali, Garba and Durga Puja included in UNESCO list, it means nothing for your country, except for keeping you people addicted, wake up to reality

  2. Why use AI voice? First post not able to find a person in india to read. Using AI will only make already wealthy engineer more wealthy, If a real person reads it might feed a family. I am not against development, but usage of AI really required for news reading. Palki I am a fan of you. But i am realy getting bored to watch first post. @firstpost

  3. Inspite of so much heritage and culture Global tourists avoid India. Primary reason is dirty, unsafe cities. I live in Gurgaon. There are heaps of garbage lying everywhere. It seems there is no authority responsible for garbage collection in Gurgaon. Pathetic state of affairs. The local BJP government is doing nothing.

  4. From darkness to light.

Every dipawali, these words resonate with millions of millions world wide.

    Internalise these powerful words.🙏

  5. Diwali is festival of lights and good food, clothes, newness.

Italian cooking ugh!! Eating pizza is sick food. All the categories listed are so diverse but traditional Indians Diwali is life in the light of God whosoever he may be. Unfortunately, the West says the East are idol worshippers then what about the statues that line the churches which😢people touch and kiss.
