  1. Hi! Have you made a video about Château Lafleur? I just bought a 2018 and I'm super excited! Jean-Philippe from Montreal.

  2. One of my really favorite wines of 2025 is the 2021 Quinta da Oliveirinha Douro Grande Reserva. This is a stunning Portuguese wine for only around 25 euro per bottle. It is a field blend with the main grape being touriga nacional. Another stunner is the rather well known (in Europe) 2021 Quinta do Cardo Vinha do Pombal from the Portuguese Beira Interior region. I tasted both wines when visiting Portugal earlier this year and I was so mesmerized by both of them I stocked up on them while still being in Portugal. Online delivery is a great thing 😛 Check out these wines if you can. Utter bliss and really really affordable. You don't need 100+ euro pricetags for quality !

  3. I am expecting Chateau Laroque to end up somewhere on your list. Possibly the best value in all of bordeaux

  4. If you are ever back in Pomerol, I would recommend a visit to Chateau Gazin, if you haven’t been there already. They are next door neighbors to Petrus, and in fact sold them 5 hectares in 1970. The vineyards are separated by a narrow dirt road. Their wines are very nice, and at a fraction of the price. And the owner, Nicolas de Bailliencourt, is a wonderful host. Wonderful list btw. Thank you.

  5. Hola John. Wow, I cant even imagine drinking all those wines you had this year. For me and after reaching CT to see my scores and comments it seems that the wines I enjoyed the most were Petrolo Galatrona 2011, Chateau Branon Pessac Leognan 2005, Masetto 2010, and Maybach Materium 2016 that I just had a few days ago. 2025 was a beer year for me and I didnt opened a lot of bottles, maybe around 60 or so this year. I hope 2026 brings a lot more. 2025 was a buying year for me and I bought close to 120 or so bottles and keep buying. JUst yesterday bought a case of Chateau Tour St Cristophe 2022. Have a great day.

  6. A very impressive list – looking forward to the top 10. My top 10 wines of 2025 so far are the following (although I often have some of the best between the Xmas and New Year's holidays, so perhaps there are others to finish the year that could make it into this list): (1) Krug Vintage 2000; (2) Dom Perignon Brut Vintage 1980; (3) Chateau d'Yquem Sauternes 2010; (4) Bodegas Tradicion Pedro Ximenez Tradicion 20 Years Old VOS Sherry; (5) Bindi Sergardi Mocenni Numero 89 Gran Selezione Chianti Classico 2018; (6) Antinori Tenuta Gaudo al Tasso Bolgheri Superiore 2021; (7) Tonel No. 5 Cote de Sud Sherry; (8) Recaredo Serral del Vell Brut Nature Corpinnat 2018; (9) Jacques Selosse Initial BdB Brut Grand Cru Avize NV; (10) Fontodi Flaccianello della Pieve 2021 … the remainder in my top 25 could easily be in the top 10 in a different order.
